Over the weekend, the leftists went into their usual snit that they do whenever a “celebrity” goes outside the accepted norms and talks to a Republican or Trump supporter or is outed as being a friend of a conservative.
You would think they would at least leave country music stars alone because aside from a few nut jobs like the Dixie Chicks (renamed “The Chicks”), most country music singers (and their fans) are conservatives – or at least they are independents who don’t give a sh*t about what Democrats have to say about things.
But when country music singer Luke Bryan brought Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on stage on Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida to raise money for victims of Hurricane Ian, the leftists blew a gasket, calling Ron a fascist and other names – and completely ignoring the charitable purpose of the visit, of course.

Before introducing DeSantis to the crowd, Bryan told them, “We’re gonna have some fun and we’re gonna raise some money tonight for the great state of Florida.”
The crowd, unlike the leftist Twitterverse, was very enthusiastic about DeSantis being there. But on Twitter, there were some threats of no longer supporting Bryan because they didn’t want to give their money to “election deniers and democracy assassins.”
After the leftists went after Bryan, he tweeted, “I typically don’t respond to stuff when I’m getting run down on a social platform but here’s the deal. I understand Governor DeSantis is a very polarizing figure. But I grew up in a country where if a governor (asks) you if they can come and raise awareness to help victims of a natural disaster you help.”
Maybe the leftists should have listened to some of the lyrics in his song “I’ll Stay Me” and they would have figured out that they wouldn’t be able to cancel Bryan.
“You’re going to have to hang around
Long enough to hear me out
Some folks aren’t happy like they are Some want to take things just a little too far
I am just what I am… I’ll stay me.”
