Imagine my surprise when I opened a letter from the IRS recently and was told that I had a $857 credit on my 2020 tax account.
LOL. Yeah, that’s not accurate.
It also said they didn’t have my refund. Another lie since I’ve always sent my taxes in on time and they cashed my check way back in the spring of 2021.

There is NO WAY the IRS owes me any money – especially when there’s a democrat president.
I would only get money back if they had a computer glitch or they had an inaccurate computation on their end and they owe the entire population a credit.
I have paid IN money to the IRS for more than 30 years due to my sole proprietorship income and due to the fact that I take out more during the year and don’t allow them to keep my money.
No, unlike many of you, I don’t use the IRS as a “savings” account to give me my own money back a year later.
So after receiving the IRS letter, I started doing some research. My co-worker and her son also got a letter. I posted on a local Facebook page and found at least a dozen more people who got the letter, one guy had more than a $9000 credit! Lucky him, right?
Was it a scam? The letter had a bulk mail indicia that looked correct. The contact information on the letter – both the address and phone number – were all legit. I did some Googling and no one had a story on these IRS letters.
I called the IRS to inquire but of course they are all too busy to take my call. I decided I would schedule a meeting with the local IRS office to find out what the heck is going on but they’ve been too busy to meet with me anytime soon.
Finally, I came across a story from Yahoo Finance which said the letters shouldn’t have been sent out.
In the Yahoo story, Mark Luscombe, a principal analysis for Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, says the IRS is still processing millions of 2020 returns and these notices go out automatically when the IRS believes it has not received a return.
“Experts” say that most likely the IRS has our returns and just sent out a bunch of automated notices. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
Interestingly enough, I never got one of these letters before Biden came along.
Incompetence. Total incompetence.
And unneeded extra spending by the IRS sending out stupid letters and costing taxpayers time and money because they’ve been contacting their CPAs to figure out what’s going on.
The Biden IRS, of course, won’t admit to how many letters were sent out.
Along those lines, Biden’s Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, in January of 2021 promised to tell the truth even when it’s hard and to rebuild trust with the American people.
The Biden campaign, when running against Trump, continually pledged to be “transparent” and open with the press.
Yeah right. Apparently not.
Yahoo Finance tried to do a CYA for Biden in their article and blamed the pandemic for the problem, which is pretty much what the fake news media says when the Biden administration is shown to be incompetent.
Last Thursday, the IRS decided it would suspend notices and said “in many situations, the tax return may be part of our current paper tax inventory and simply hasn’t been processed. Stopping these letters which could have otherwise been sent to thousands of taxpayers – will help avoid confusion.”
No kidding.
The IRS says we can establish and log into our tax account online. Gee, I wonder if this is actually a coordinated effort to get us to sign up for an internet account and get us to load up our photo to their facial recognition program.
Of course not. That would be a conspiracy theory, right? They would never do something so sinister.
Well, good luck to everyone with your upcoming 2021 taxes. It’ll probably be worse than last tax season.
Erin Collins, the National Taxpayer Advocate, reports that the IRS is “in crisis” and the fact that the IRS only answered 32 million calls out of 282 million in 2021 shows that she is right. They are a complete and total failure.
Instead of actually doing their job, the IRS will just pretend to do their job and send out letters.
Will you end up in prison for something you didn’t do? Oh well, they are too busy to help you with that. Sorry.
