Days after it was reported that former “Full House” star Lori Loughlin was a “wreck” following her first week in prison, she’s gotten some much needed good news as it’s been revealed she may be getting out early.
Loughlin began her two-month sentence on October 30, and she is currently scheduled to be released on December 27. While this is two days after Christmas, the Bureau of Prisons explains on its website how it handles releasing inmates during a holiday or a weekend, according to Fox News.
“The Bureau of Prisons may release an inmate whose release date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, on the last preceding weekday unless it is necessary to detain the inmate for another jurisdiction seeking custody under a detainer, or for any other reason which might indicate that the inmate should not be released until the inmate’s schedule release date,” the BOP’s website states.

Loughlin is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California. The facility is not allowing visitors right now due to COVID-19, so Loughlin won’t be able to see her family beforehand, as the prison’s website states that “all visitation at this facility has been suspended until further notice.”
“Lori’s been communicating daily with her family and is trying her best to get acclimated to her new surroundings but she’s ready to go home,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “This is a huge challenge. She is trying to stay strong but she’s also been very frightened of contracting COVID. This was a huge stress for Lori even before she was locked up and now her fear is even worse.”
“Her girls are worried about her and are doing everything they can to reassure her that she can do this and trying to help her to stay strong,” the insider added. “Never in a million years did Lori ever think she‘d be behind bars in her lifetime and she had a very difficult time dealing with that reality. She lost many nights of sleep in fear of what everyday life would be like in prison.”
News of her potential early release will come as a relief to Loughlin, as she had hoped to be home in time for Christmas.
“She hopes to be home by Christmas, but she’ll definitely be home by New Year’s,” another source told People Magazine. “She had everything in order, so she decided a couple of days ago to report to prison. She can put this behind her as she goes into 2021.”
