President Trump urged Americans to boycott Goodyear Tires after the company reportedly banned their employees from wearing MAGA hats and other conservative slogans.

He tweeted, “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES—They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS,” Trump tweeted Wednesday. “Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!).”

The president’s tweet comes after a Goodyear employee in Kansas shared a company slide that he claimed came from corporate. The slide showed two categories of clothing: Acceptable and Unacceptable.

Listed as “Acceptable” were Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride (LGBT). Listed as “Unacceptable” were Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA and politically affiliated slogans or material.

After Trump’s call for a boycott, Goodyear released a statement on Twitter attempting to defend itself. The statement said, in part, “To be clear on our longstanding corporate policy, Goodyear has zero tolerance for any forms of harassment or discrimination. To enable a work environment free of those, we ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for ay candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues.”

The company employs more than 60,000 people.
