China is continuing to expand its trade and influence into the Balkan nation of Serbia and as able in the surrounding region. Xi Jinping’s ‘One Belt One Road’ initiative envisions re-establishing the old ‘Silk Road’ From Asia into Europe.
Serbia has bought a new generation of medium-range, radar-guided surface-to-air missiles from China in a new sign of deepening cooperation between Beijing and Belgrade, reported Reuters.
The purchase of the FK-3 missile defence system was included in state-run arms company Jugoimport SDPR’s annual report, submitted to the state Business Registers Agency last week and seen by Reuters.
In other shocking news, Chinese policemen already patrol the streets of Belgrade to support Chinese tourists to the Balkans.
The Trump administration has been active in attempting to resolve the lingering tension from the 90s Balkan Wars by solving the Kosovo-Serbia border issues.
Russia is also a close ally of Serbia and has never forgotten the Clinton Administration’s NATO bombing of the country when Russia was weak militarily.
