Things over at the happy-go-lucky Ellen Show are not all “dancing and fun,” according to a new report.

Turns out the “core crew” who operate the show are furious and outraged over how they’ve been mistreated.

They’re mad about pay, communication, and the fact that neither producers nor Ellen have reached out to them once to see how they’re doing.

Crew members were told to expect a 60% reduction in pay even though the show continues to air.

Crew members from Ellen DeGeneres’ long-running daytime talk show are distressed and outraged over their treatment from top producers amid the coronavirus pandemic, numerous insiders affiliated with the series told Variety.

The core stage crew for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” consisting of more than 30 employees, received no written communication about the status of their working hours, pay, or inquiries about their mental and physical health from producers for over a month, said two sources, both of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity. Higher-ups in production would occasionally answer phone calls but reveal little, added one of the sources. The crew was further incensed by the show’s recent hire of an outside, non-union tech company to help DeGeneres tape remotely from her home in California.

When production executives finally did weigh in, nearly all crew members were told last week to brace for a 60% reduction in pay, even as the show continues to air, according to sources close to the matter.

What infuriated the crew members even more, was that while they’ve been left workless with reduced pay, the remote production hired a whole new team to produce Ellen’s “at home” show, leaving her loyal crew members with the same exact skill-set sittng home with nothing to do.

And even more upsetting and hurtful is how they’re being shunned by Ellen and her producers.

The crew is upset over the lack of “personal outreach” from show leadership.

Apparently, nobody has even bothered to check-in on crew members who have been with the show for almost 2 decades.

Ellen has a long-standing, widely-accepted reputation for being mean, hard to work for, and cold. I guess those rumors were right.
