Who needs STEM degrees when you’ve got connections? Forget merit, science, or any actual qualifications…Jeff Bezos, billionaire boss of Blue Origin, launched a hand-picked girl gang into space on Monday, April 14th, headlined (and organized) by his fiancée Lauren Sanchez. The all- female crew soared roughly 60 miles above Earth – just high enough to technically call it “space,” but not high enough to escape the eye rolls.

The whole event was draped in the kind of DEI symbolism that corporate HR departments dream about: diverse crew, female empowerment narrative, and enough performative virtue signaling to power a second rocket.

The space trip, which appeared to be mostly a publicity event, also included singer Katy Perry and talk show host/Oprah BFF Gayle King. There was also, notably, Aisha Bowe in the rocket – a former NASA rocket scientist – because there needs to be someone on board who knows what they are doing.

And the most exciting part? This joyride for the elites was most likely funded with your tax dollars – through billions of dollars that have been given to Blue Origin under Obama, Biden and yes, even Trump.

Dubbed “a historic all-female mission,” the launch has been lauded by media outlets more interested in glass ceilings than launch physics. This could have been called “Launchpads and Lip Gloss.”

Pop diva Perry said about the trip, “Regarding her preparation: “I am talking to myself every day and going, ‘You’re brave, you’re bold, you are doing this for the next generation to inspire so many different people but especially young girls to go, “I’ll go to space in the future.” No limitations.’”

Apparently, Perry has no clue that women have gone to space in the past – and gone much farther than these wealthy attention-seeking self-important “space travelers.”

This wasn’t a breakthrough for womankind. This was a billionaire’s space vanity project dressed up as some kind of progress for womankind.

So what did we learn from this mission? Not much – except that in 2025, “diversity” means you have enough money and connections to go to the front of the line. Mission accomplished.
