Remember when the end of Roe v. Wade was supposed to usher in a dystopian nightmare for women’s rights? The Left wailed about back-alley procedures that would need to be done in secret in the dark of night. But fast-forward to 2024, and guess what? Abortions in the U.S. have not only persisted – they’ve increased, surpassing one million.

According to Time, with research conducted by the Guttmacher Institute, there were almost 1,038,100 abortions in 2024 across the country, marking a slight uptick from 2023.

So, what’s fueling this unexpected rise? Enter telehealth. With the advent of abortion pills delivered by mail and shield laws protecting providers, women in restrictive states are finding ways to circumvent bans. In fact, telehealth abortions accounted for about 14% of all procedures in 2024, up from 10% the previous year. However, the number is probably higher because the states with total abortion bans weren’t counted.

American Life League’s National Director Katie Brown said in an emailed statement to Breitbart News, “These pills continue to cross our nation’s border into states with pro-life laws, with absolutely no regard for the women or babies involved. The reckless and dangerous distribution of these deadly pills only continues to rise, and so do the cases of babies who were never given a chance and women who were murdered by these pills. This must end. When will our lawmakers start taking the dignity of human life seriously?”

The post-Roe landscape has led to a patchwork of access where some states offer easier access to abortion and some less. But the overall effect? More abortions, not fewer. So, to those who predicted an apocalypse for women’s rights – the real apocalypse has been inflicted on the unborn babies who were aborted.
