Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the El Salvadoran sweetheart of the Democratic open-borders brigade, is back in the headlines – and not because he’s winning any humanitarian awards.

A suspected MS-13 gangbanger and alleged wife beater, Garcia found himself shipped off to a maximum security prison in El Salvador by the Trump administration due to a paperwork mishap. Now, Democrats are up in arms – not about his violent history, but about getting him back.

Technically, deporting him wasn’t the problem – he just wasn’t supposed to land in El Salvador. But now that he’s there, Salvadoran officials are keeping him like a bad souvenir.

And no matter how many threats and court orders Democrats toss around, El Salvador isn’t budging. Maybe next time, the left should vet their poster boys a little more carefully because he’s no upstanding citizen to champion.

Garcia entered the U.S. illegally in 2011 and, despite a judge’s 2019 ruling against his asylum case, was allowed to hang out under the Biden-era “catch-and-coddle” immigration policy. That meant this guy was free to do his thing while federal authorities debated whether he might face danger back home from a rival gang (that’s right Democrats, you have to BE in a gang to ask for protection from a “rival” gang).

Fast forward to Trump being president again, and delivering on his promise to keep America safe from criminal illegal aliens. After years of Biden caving to every activist with a “No Human is Illegal” bumper sticker, President Trump finally sent Garcia packing.

Predictably, the left is up in arms because they have never met an illegal alien (or a criminal) it hasn’t supported. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen practically sprinted to El Salvador to demand answers, insisting this was a terrible mistake. But he was denied access to Garcia, no surprise.

Homeland Security is setting the record straight about who Garcia is. Led by Secretary Kristi Noem, DHS issued a firm statement clarifying the background of Kilmar Abrego Garcia amid what they called “misleading mainstream media reports.” Noem described Garcia as an MS-13 gang member with a history of trafficking and dangerous criminal activity. She criticized the media and left-wing narratives for portraying him sympathetically despite his ties to violent gang networks and his criminal background.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller emphasized that the Supreme Court unanimously upheld the President’s authority to deport Abrego Garcia, stating that no court can compel the government to retrieve a foreign national from another country. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin went further, calling Abrego Garcia a terrorist and stressing that he belongs in an El Salvador prison, not in the U.S. She drew a stark comparison to terrorist figures and condemned media attempts to frame him as a harmless individual. The left has been calling Garcia a “Maryland Man” to make him appear harmless and to mislead people thinking that he is an American, which he is not.

Does the left care about any of the facts that have come to light about Garcia? Nope. Do they care that Garcia poses a clear and ongoing danger to the public as an illegal alien from El Salvador with deep ties to the violent MS-13 gang, confirmed by two judges and backed by DOJ intelligence? Nope.

Do they care that Garcia was stopped with other known gang members in possession of drugs and cash, wearing clothing marked with gang symbols, and identified by law enforcement as holding a rank in MS-13’s Western Clique? Nope. In addition to gang activity and suspected human trafficking – evidenced during a 2022 traffic stop where he was found transporting multiple individuals and flagged on a terrorist watch list – Garcia also has a history of domestic violence.

His wife filed for a protective order in 2021, detailing multiple instances of physical abuse that left her bruised and bleeding in front of their child. Despite efforts to portray him as a victim, the documented violence and affiliations make Garcia a dangerous individual whose removal from the U.S. was not only lawful but necessary for public safety.

Let the left keep crying. We’ll keep deporting.
