Once upon a time, the Drudge Report was the digital rallying cry for patriots, populists, and anyone who thought maybe– just maybe – America should have a border. Back in the golden age of red hats and real news, Matt Drudge practically waved a MAGA flag from his URL. But now? You’d be forgiven for thinking the guy handed his login to George Soros during a 3 a.m. backroom networking mixer.

Let’s take a gander at the anti-Trump (and anti-American) fear-fest Drudge is peddling today:

  • “Dalio Sees Once-a-Lifetime Collapse in Economic, Political Order…” Translation: Hide your kids, hide your Bitcoin. America’s done for. And who is Dalio anyway? Regular folks don’t have a clue.
  • “Airlines’ Dreams of Banner Year Are Over…” We’re supposed to care about Delta’s dreams now?
  • “STOCKS CONTINUE PLUNGE” Thanks for the update, Nostradamus. Maybe toss in a ticker on the stock market to help out your friends at CNN and MSNBC. And be sure to keep fearmongering Americans so that the situation gets worse.
  • “WEEKEND: USA could be bombing Iran if Tehran doesn’t fall in line…” Subtle. Nothing screams “journalism” like turning every weekend into World War III.

This isn’t news. It’s a panic attack wrapped in hyperlinks. Drudge is the “Chicken Little” for the Left, stoking panic, worry and discontent. The media doesn’t report news anymore under the Trump presidency – they report their predictions of doom. And Drudge is only too happy to help them out.
