If you thought the climate cult couldn’t go any further off-leash, hold onto your tennis ball. According to the latest insane leftist article over at The Guardian, it’s not gas-guzzling private jets or Chinese coal plants destroying the planet – it’s your Lab mix, Max, and your Basset Hound, Buddy.

My guess is that author Donna Lu probably hasn’t been winning any popularity contests at the local dog parks. Based in Australia, her employers, a left-leaning outlet, are known more for climate panic than puppy love and it shows.

So now dogs are being painted as environmental villains. Why? Because they poop. Because they breathe. Because they have the audacity to exist outside of a recycled hemp crate. A new Australian study claims the environmental “paw print” of your golden retriever is more insidious than anyone ever imagined.

Researchers barked up every possible tree: dogs allegedly disturb birds, scare off deer, leak flea meds into waterways, and – even worse – eat meat. (Gasp!) Their solution? Leash laws, dog-free zones, and sustainable dog food (kale?). Or just don’t get a dog.

One professor, a lead author of the study, suggests we’ve been giving dogs “a free pass.” But let’s be real: the only thing “free” here is the time some of these climate warriors clearly have on their hands.

Meanwhile, people battling depression, PTSD, or simply trying to enjoy a walk without government regulation of their schnauzer are left in the doghouse.

Oh, and don’t forget their parting advice: “If nothing else, pick up your own dog sh*t,” Professor Bill Bateman of Curtin University exclaims.

Revolutionary stuff, professor. Next you’ll discover cats also fart and call for a global litter box ban.

As expected, criticism of the anti-dog article came fast and furious.
