It’s been a rough decade for Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Not because he’s been tirelessly fighting for conservative causes – oh no, quite the opposite. The man has been reduced to little more than a roadblock, especially when it comes to things tied to Donald Trump and the MAGA agenda.

McConnell, the GOP’s resident tortoise, never-Trumper, and former leader of the Senate, has spent more time obstructing Trump’s nominees lately than doing anything productive for the Republican Party.

Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence? Nope. McConnell voted “no” on her nomination along with all of the Democrats. How about RFK Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services? Another no vote. And the worse decision of all – he voted no for Pete Hegseth to be the Secretary of Defense saying, “desire to be a change agent is not enough.”

WRONG.

If there were an Olympic event for slow-walking the conservative agenda, McConnell would be taking home the gold. And let’s be honest, it’s not just about age – though, at 82, he’s had more medical episodes than the characters on “House.” It’s about being completely out of touch with the party’s base.

For his part, in discussing McConnell not voting for his Cabinet nominees, President Trump said that the Turtle wasn’t “equipped mentally” and added, “He let the Republican Party go to hell. If I didn’t come along, the Republican Party wouldn’t even exist right now. Mitch McConnell never really had it.”

If the GOP wants a future that isn’t run by do-nothing establishment relics, it’s time to find a primary challenger against McConnell – someone who actually wants to help MAGA and not be a friend of the Democratic Party. That is, if the elderly politician decides to run again. He hasn’t made a decision yet. But if he DOES run again, maybe we can find someone who doesn’t freeze mid-sentence when asked a tough question – or someone who won’t keep tripping over their own feet and falling down.

Maybe we can find someone who genuinely supports Trump, MAGA, and the Republican agenda – rather than a so-called “concerned” grandpa who sides with the Democrats just to cement his legacy as an anti-Trumper and score glowing reviews from the fake news media.

Your time is up, Mitch. Just like the time was up for Biden (and Kamala). Get a clue and hit the exit permanently on January 3, 2027. PLEASE.
