January 6th, 2025 went off with a hitch – but not in the way Democrats had hoped. With Vice President Kamala Harris, fresh off her stinging loss in the presidential race, presiding over the electoral certification, Donald J. Trump was officially declared the 47th President of the United States starting January 20th.

In a surreal twist of irony, the very person Trump handily defeated had the unenviable job of reading out the words that confirmed his victory. Call it the political equivalent of “loser’s duty.” And it was a beauty to behold. For those of you who might have missed it, you can watch the C-SPAN video here.

Yes, the electoral votes were read and counted again – and Trump was declared the winner again.

Harris announced in front of everyone, “A sufficient declaration of the persons elected President and Vice President of the United States” and noted that the decision “shall be entered together with the list of the votes on the journals of the House and the Senate.”

It was a moment of constitutional grandeur – and one of exquisite awkwardness for the outgoing VP.

But wait, the drama doesn’t end there. Democrats, not content to lick their wounds and scamper off, are racing to slap Trump with the “convicted felon” label before Inauguration Day.

Their dutiful Judge Merchan has scheduled a sentencing hearing this Friday for one of the many legal battles Trump has been juggling – this one being the Stormy Daniels “hush money” case. Their hope? To tarnish his victory lap with a last-minute branding campaign that screams, “Yes, you won, but…”

Nothing says “sore losers” like trying to kneecap a certified President-Elect 10 days before he takes office by branding him a “convicted felon” – a term the left will use over and over again on Inauguration Day and for the next four years.

But if the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that Trump thrives in chaos. And let’s face it, this sentencing gambit might end up being more of a footnote than the headline Dems are hoping for – especially if Trump turns the whole thing on its head like he does with most things.

Friday’s hearing promises to be yet another circus, but it won’t derail Trump’s path to the presidency – which is what these legal cases have all been about. If anything, it’s just adding more fuel to the MAGA fire. As for Kamala Harris? Well, let’s just say January 6th wasn’t her most fun day on the job.
