Do you remember Hot ‘n Now? That magical drive-thru with the red roofs where you could satisfy your hunger for less than the cost of a pack of gum? Well, dust off your 90s appetite because Michigan’s homegrown burger joint is making a greasy, glorious comeback.
Hot ‘n Now, founded in Kalamazoo back in the Reagan era, has been resurrected by a partnership between Gun Lake Investments (GLI) and Alpena developer Jeff Konczak.
The plan? Two new locations: one near Gun Lake Casino and one in Alpena.
Although I’m not expecting them to still be able to sell 39¢ hamburgers at least they’ll be a little less expensive than what’s available right now where you have to practically take out a loan for a dinner for a family of four.
Here’s hoping the concept catches on and they start popping up all over Michigan.
