When Donald Trump won the presidency, many Americans dusted themselves off, braced for change, and moved on with their lives. Not so for our dear State Department employees, who apparently needed federally funded cry therapy to cope.
Yes, your tax dollars helped finance emotional support sessions for government workers traumatized by the recent presidential election. According to the Free Beacon [1], an internal State Department email was sent out that encouraged their employees to attend a one-hour session to talk about their feelings about the election results. The session was hosted by the department’s Employee Consultation Services in the Bureau of Medical Services.
The email says, “Change is a constant in our lives, but it can often bring about stress and uncertainty…Join us for an insightful webinar where we delve into effective stress management techniques to help you navigate these challenging times. This session will provide tips and practical strategies for managing stress and maintaining your well being.”
Congress raises eyebrows, and rightly so.
Congress is now poking around to figure out why Uncle Sam turned into Uncle Therapist. Meanwhile, veterans struggle to get mental health care, roads are crumbling, and schools are begging for basic funding. But sure, let’s bankroll government-funded “safe spaces” because the Karens in the State Dept. couldn’t handle the election results.
