In the aftermath of Kamala Harris’s BIGLY loss to Donald Trump, the Democratic blame game is in full swing and nobody is willing to take the blame. Forget unity or a total reset – this is political theater at its finest, complete with finger-pointing, revelations, and enough bitter truth-telling to fill a reality TV season.
Suddenly, it’s open season on “who’s really at fault,” and it seems everyone from the Obamas to Merrick Garland is catching flak. And here’s the kicker: the coronation of Kamala Harris, a candidate Democrats now admit was never fit for the crown, is finally getting the scrutiny she should have gotten before Election Day.
Scapegoat #1: Obama
Barack Obama might be one of the few who could’ve given Harris a fighting chance – but his “pep talks” with voters turned out to be about as out of touch as they come. David Garrow, Obama’s own biographer, didn’t mince words [1], saying the ex-president’s finger-wagging at Black men for making excuses not to vote for Harris came off as self-defeating. Garrow was blunt: this approach didn’t just flop; it backfired. He even called Obama “tone-deaf and clueless.” Ouch!
Scapegoat #2: Biden
Nancy Pelosi, who’s no stranger to navigating choppy political waters, has said publicly that if Biden had gotten out of the race sooner, maybe Democrats could’ve avoided this entire debacle. But as Pelosi pointed out, Biden’s immediate endorsement of Harris “made it almost impossible to have a primary.” Pelosi’s implication is clear: this wasn’t a passing of the torch; it was a power play by Biden (and a big F-U to those who threw him out in a coup). So Biden is getting all kinds of heat for not getting out of the race sooner and not being enough of a cheerleader to his feckless VP.
Scapegoat #3: Puppetmaster Dems involved in the coup against Biden – who coronated a disastrous candidate
DNC official Lindy Li isn’t holding back, calling the Kamala campaign a “$1 billion disaster,” noting that her donors bought into the Harris hype from the leftist elites who coronated Kamala. She said, however, the promise of a Kamala victory was nothing but a pipe dream. She also puts the blame on Biden saying, “I actually think President Biden, you know, the whole endorsing her thirty minutes after he dropped out, I think that was a big F you to the party.”
Obama was at fault as well Li said. ”I want to point out they waited three days – Michelle and Barack Obama waited three days to endorse Kamala Harris,” she lamented. “It was the silence heard round the world.”
Scapegoat #4: Wokeism
Then came the firebrands. Bernie Sanders and Democratic U.S. Representative Ritchie Torres who might disagree on many things, but they united in one message: the Democratic Party has lost the working class, and the elite-driven “they/them” politics isn’t selling. Sanders and Torres roasted the far-left policies like “Defund the Police” and “Latinx” and the Jew-hating folks chanting “From the River to the Sea.” They argued that the Dems alienated historic swaths of voters, from Black and Latino communities to Asian and Jewish constituencies. It turns out, TikTok activism doesn’t win over the working class. Who knew?! Certainly not the Democrats – although chances are, they DID know but just didn’t care.
Scapegoat #5: The Kamala “team.”
Harris’s coronation didn’t come without internal sabotage either. Democratic insiders blamed her campaign aides, who, apparently, were “arrogant” and thought they had it in the bag. Obama campaign alums like David Plouffe and Stephanie Cutter tried to recreate the Obama magic, but it turns out that Kamala Harris is not Barack Obama, and America figured that out pretty quickly.
Being female and half-black just wasn’t enough to drag Kamala over the finish line. And then there’s the issue of messaging. Harris’s team heavy focus on wokeism, abortion rights and “democratic norms” left many voters yawning while Trump’s team hammered home inflation and crime – issues hitting closer to home for everyday Americans.
Scapegoat #6: Elitists
Hollywood is bailing too after seeing that the Democrats have lost touch with the American people. Michael Douglas, of all people, admitted on record that the Democrats are “elitists,” while Republicans are “the party of the people.” And in the ultimate blow, Bill Maher savaged the Democrats as “snobs” and “brats.” When the Hollywood elite aren’t willing to toe the Democratic line, you know things have gone off the rails.
Scapegoat #7: George Clooney
Poor Georgie is taking the heat for his op-ed about flailing failing Biden and saying he should step down as the Democratic presidential candidate. According to reports [2], George thinks it’s “unfair” to blame him for Kamala’s loss and making him a scapegoat. Clooney, who has been handed just about everything in life because of his good looks, actually thought he was the smartest person in the room when he went after Biden and did his best to throw him overboard. Mission complete, George. But now that he helped the Trumpster get elected, Clooney is suddenly “stepping back” from politics and whining that people are targeting him for the fact that Orange Man Bad will be back in the Oval Office.
Scapegoat #8: Jen O’Malley Dillon
Kamala’s campaign genius (not really) Jen O’Malley seems to have blown through mucho mucho money with things like concerts and celebrity appearances that were scheduled get butts in the seats at the Kamala rallies – things that basically had no effect on getting out the vote.
An unknown Democrat stated the truth about the Kamala campaign folks in a New York Post [3] piece saying, “(O’Malley Dillion) managed political and ground operations – Cutter and Plouffe were doing messaging and ads and they misjudged what people cared about because cable news and Twitter are not real life. Biden should have never run (in 2024) AND the party is too far left.”
Another Dem said about the messaging which included wokeism, pro-Abortion BS and not “real” things like inflation, “F—king idiots…People are fed up.”
Another campaign volunteer said, “I think broadly the staff of Democratic campaigns are not representative of the country.”
The best quote was the campaign volunteer who said, “She (Kamala) was a s–t candidate and Trump made her look worse than Hillary Clinton.” Seems. Hard to do – but it happened.
Scapegoat #9: Merrick Garland
American author Don Winslow said that Trump never should have made it as a candidate to begin with. Yes, all of his fake legal charges should have taken him out. Winslow said on X:
In the middle of the blame game realize one undeniable fact:
Donald Trump should not have been allowed to run for office.
Donald Trump should have been prosecuted by Merrick Garland and the Justice Department like anyone who did what he did.
The delay destroyed this country.

Scapegoat #10: Time
The blame game of “time” sorta falls in the Biden category – Kamala just didn’t have enough time to define herself. LOL. The opposite is actually true. The more time went by, the more her campaign imploded.
Strategist Jim Manley laughably told the Washington Examiner, “She ran a better campaign than I ever would have expected, especially given the bad position President Biden put her in.”
But in the end, Manley threw Kamala under the bus and inferred that no amount of time would make Kamala a better candidate. He said, “There is no reason to think that she should run again in four years… None, zero, zip.” He also threw Biden under the bus again saying, “He and his staff have done an enormous amount of damage to this country.”
Scapegoat #11: Yes, Kamala herself
And as for cackling Kamala? Democrats are now openly admitting she never should have been their candidate in the first place. However, we all know what would have happened if she HADN’T gotten the nod, there would have been weeks and weeks of accusations of racism and sexism. And the Democrats weren’t going to be subjected to that because it’s the Republicans and the Trump supporters who are the real racists and sexists (wink-wink).
In the end, no one really liked Kamala – not even Democratic voters. They just had to accept her – and her campaign did their best to make her into a likable and competent candidate. But hey…EPIC FAIL!!!
American author and historian David Pietrusza said to the Washington Examiner, “I suspect the Democratic Party will move on from Harris. She did not run a stronger race, certainly she was not underfunded, and she largely took the Senate and the House down with her.”
Like Hillary Clinton, Kamala wasn’t a popular choice. It’s not that American voters are opposed to a woman as president; they just weren’t interested in the Democratic female candidates presented to them.
Blame game or reality check?
The Democratic Party’s introspection feels less like genuine soul-searching and more like a scramble to throw someone under the bus. Biden, the Obamas, Kamala, Clooney, Hollywood, Merrick Garland, and even the pollsters are getting dragged. But here’s the real issue: if Democrats don’t shift from their wokeism, fascism and “ivory tower nonsense” and actually address the everyday concerns of American voters, this epic loss could be just the beginning. And that’s fine with me.
