Thank You, Joe…For Reminding Us to Take Out the Trash

Thank you, Joe Biden. Thank you for trashing us. Thank you for insulting us. Thank you for calling us “garbage.” Donald Trump took that insult to heart when he landed in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Wednesday. Donning a bright orange and yellow safety vest, he jumped aboard a brand-new Trump Trash truck—and he had plenty to say about Biden ripping millions of Americans

So, thank you, Joe Biden, for being as contemptible as Hillary Clinton and as clueless as Kamala Harris. Thank you for reminding us to vote for President Trump. Thank you, also, for having the decency to record yourself. Thank you for giving us a recording of your latest hit, of you being so unintentionally—and disturbingly—honest.

Thank you for talking like Hillary and sounding off before Kamala’s big speech. Thank you, Joe, for this one-of-a-kind gift—a two-fer—which helps us and hurts Democrats. We will cherish this gift, placing it alongside Hillary’s “basket of deplorables” and the pages of Kamala’s speech about President Trump’s “enemies list.”

It takes a special combination of ignorance and arrogance to commit political suicide publicly this way. No doubt the irony is lost on Biden, who is lost in general. No doubt he is also at a loss to explain himself. And yet, after four years of incompetence and incoherence, the inexplicable is now—finally—understandable. That is to say, the shocking truth about Biden is that he has no respect for the truth. That he believes what he says is true, so much so that he thinks he is neither a plagiarist nor a propagandist, is a fact. That his alternative facts include a series of big lies and gross distortions is no accident. The Biden of two days ago is the same Biden of two years ago, who used Independence Hall as a backdrop to sow hatred and division. The Biden who called us garbage is the same Biden who called us extremists—over and over again. So when Biden says President Trump has no character, he reveals his own.

Biden is a man of low repute, and the content of his character is like the character of his political career—wanting—is impossible to deny. From his first election to his last, from hiding in his basement to sheltering in the White House, Biden’s character has been clear—he hasn’t any. His penchant for character assassination is real. His desire to slander the survivor of a real-life attempted assassination is also obvious. If Biden does not understand what he says, he should resign immediately. If he does not care what he says, we should resign ourselves to the fact that Biden will soon leave.

But we are powerful. We have the power of the ballot. We have the power to return President Trump to the Oval Office. We do not have to wait for the media to project President Trump the winner on Election Night to know what projection is. We know all too well what Democrats do when they engage in projection. Take a look at this commentator on MSNBC who says President Trump’s rallies are designed to incite violence and promote racism. If living Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of joining hands with all of God’s children—Black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics—is violent, then President Trump is guilty of assault.

The real crime is Kamala Harris’s war on President Trump and his supporters. Her speech at the Ellipse was nothing less than a declaration of war against 75 million Americans—or more! By saying that President Trump has an enemies list and that he intends to use the military against people who disagree with him, Harris proved that her real enemy is the truth. She confirmed what we knew all along, that what she says about President Trump—every lie she tells about him and every aspersion she casts against him—applies to herself. Only one candidate believes in lawfare. Only one candidate has practiced lawfare. Only one candidate would wage lawfare against the leader of the opposition. That candidate is Kamala Harris.

Kudos to President Trump for taking these attacks like a man—like an American. Here he is, responding to the attacks after hearing about them from Senator Marco Rubio.

President Trump’s response speaks to his character. Instead of shouting or slandering Biden, instead of resorting to hyperbole and invective, President Trump responds with regret. Instead of malice toward Biden, President Trump speaks with charity for Biden; President Trump says Biden deserves forgiveness. President Trump speaks as a leader—a national leader—who knows that Biden is desperate.

More importantly, President Trump speaks from experience. He put Biden’s words in context, delivering an impromptu seminar on political rhetoric and presidential leadership. President Trump reminded his supporters that extremist rhetoric is the currency and lifeblood of the Democrat Party. President Trump reminded his fellow Americans that Joe Biden speaks the same language as Hillary Clinton, that Democrats hate the very people they purport to represent.

In the end, President Trump’s composure was the best response. Confidence and calmness—the two define President Trump’s approach on the campaign trail. He is calm in his response to those who seek to rattle or offend him. He is confident he will win this election; and so are we.
