It looks like the CIA has added a new skill to its resume – training terrorists. Reports are now swirling around a report [1] that an Afghan national, who allegedly plotted terror attacks on U.S. soil, somehow managed to get a gig with the CIA. That’s right, the same folks tasked with protecting the nation, appears to have given a terrorist the keys to the kingdom.
CIA: Now hiring… terrorists?
According to the report, an Afghan operative who planed to carry out an Election Day terrorist attack in the name of ISIS, had a working relationship with the CIA in what looks like a move where they hired a fox to guard the henhouse.
The “oops, my bad” moment in intelligence.
Apparently, the intelligence agency that’s supposed to be super sharp and ahead of the curve didn’t notice a red flag waving in its own backyard. Most likely, they were too busy worrying about climate change and DEI (and binge-watching spy dramas) instead of doing a basic Google search on their new recruit.
According to Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, “Following the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, more than 77K Afghans were given humanitarian parole, with little to no vetting and no intent to know their whereabouts.” Tawhedi was one of them. The criminal complaint indicates that Tawhedi entered the United States on September 9, 2021, using a special immigrant visa.
From cubicles to potential carnage: how the CIA missed the memo.
If he CIA can let an ISIS operative slip through the cracks, what else are they missing? Perhaps it’s time for the CIA to go back to the basics of intelligence – starting with not hiring the enemy.
And nope, they can’t pin this one on Trump like they usually do with everything else. It all went down squarely under the Harris-Biden administration as most FUBARs do.
