Jessica Sheffield, a former Navy lieutenant commander, found herself in the middle of a regulatory quagmire when the Defense Department imposed the COVID-19 shot mandate back in August of 2021.
According to a report from World Net Daily (WND), Sheffield’s refusal was rooted in both safety concerns and a firm belief in the unlawfulness of the mandate. But instead of being treated with respect, Sheffield faced retaliation for not following what she classified as an “unlawful” order.
Sheffield blasts military leaders.
Sheffield took her case all the way to the top, alerting Vice Admiral Robert Gaucher to what she saw as clear violations of the oaths of office that members of the military had taken. She said to WND, “They basically showed me that they’re willing to lie for money, or worse, they don’t see a forced experimental injection that was actively injuring sailors as unlawful. They put their own selfish needs ahead of standing up for what was right.”
Did all of her efforts lead to a serious review? Nope. It earned her labels like “disgruntled” and “troublemaker.” Sheffield’s attempt to file for a religious exemption was equally absurd – she first had to agree that the mandate was lawful. Obviously, not something that she was willing to do.
Firing and forgetting.
When Sheffield was forced out of the Navy, her records listed the reason as “Unacceptable Behavior.” After the mandate was rescinded in January 2023, she sought to have her record corrected and her commission reinstated. Instead, she said the Board for Correction of Naval Records quietly altered her files, falsely claiming she had resigned voluntarily. According to Sheffield, it’s all part of a grand sweep- under-the-rug operation, making the mandate drama disappear – one altered document at a time.
The purge was real.
It’s clear that the 2021 vaccine mandate acted like a purge, weeding out anyone willing to challenge its legality – and to get rid of anyone who really really wanted to keep their oath to the Constitution and not just blindly follow moronic leaders who were mandating experimental vaccines.
Sheffield’s struggle echoes the frustrations of thousands of service members who believe they were betrayed by the very institution meant to uphold the Constitution.
As of now, 38,000 people have signed a petition for military accountability, demanding courts-martial for leaders who enforced the mandate unlawfully.
So, will the DoD ever admit the mandate was unlawful? Or are they too busy rewriting history? Right now, it looks like Sheffield and others will have to wait until the next cover-up gets uncovered, however long THAT might take.
