Kamala Harris has mastered the art of the non-answer by not answering a question and giving an answer that isn’t an answer at all but, instead, is about the intersectionality of a response and an ignorant thought – a reply that has layers of nuance that intersect with the broader narrative of a non- answer about marginalized people, systemic barriers and anti-Trumpism, so by not answering the actual question, she’s actually laser focused on the complexities of the answer that speaks in a multifaceted way so that it transcends the actual question (sorry for the Kamala-speak).

During a recent surprise grilling on “60 Minutes [1],” the Vice President once again sidestepped, dodged, and danced around tough questions about issues like the surge in illegal immigration under her watch.
According to the Daily Mail [2], host Bill Whitaker asked her why it took over three years for the Harris- Biden administration to crack down on the border crisis (which they really HAVEN’T done), but Kamala didn’t seem to be able to answer the question – or didn’t want to.
When asked if she regretted allowing border crossings to quadruple in her first three years, Kamala served up the same old dish: blame Congress, stir, repeat. She claimed that her and Old Man Biden have been offering “solutions” since day one, but Whitaker wasn’t biting.
He pressed harder, and her defense was as solid as a bowl of Jell-O. He said, “What I was asking was, was it a mistake to kind of allow that flood to happen in the first place?” Her answer? “I think – the policies that we have been proposing are about fixing a problem, not promoting a problem, okay?”
Wow. There is some genius going on there.
Flip-flop champion of the year.
Whitaker didn’t stop at immigration; he also called out Kamala’s ever-changing stances on issues like fracking and Medicare for All. That’s because Kamala has a new position on issues about every day of the week in order to convince people she is not the radical tyrant that she is.
Kamala’s response to flip-flopping about where she stands on most of the issues? Something about building consensus and “listening to folks” which is more of a vague fortune cookie message than a political stance.
Kamala claims she “earned” the Democratic presidential nomination.
When Whitaker questioned Kamala about her fast-tracked nomination without a proper primary process (the Biden coup), and how it’s not the way “our system was intended to work” she defended herself, saying how she had “earned” the support of the delegates and leaders around the country and she will fight for democracy.
In the end, Kamala’s “60 Minutes” appearance was a journey to nowhere, a trip filled with detours and rhetorical roundabouts. For all the talk of “earned” support and fighting for democracy, Kamala left viewers with more questions than answers. In true Kamala fashion, she managed to say a lot without actually saying anything at all.
