Kamala Harris’ latest trip to Michigan came with a safety briefing. Touring a semiconductor factory in Saginaw, Harris’ curiosity nearly led to a cut – but instead she got a a stern warning.
According to a report out of the Daily Mail [1], Kamala, spotting some razor-sharp silicon rods, she eagerly asked, “Can I touch it?” A panicked factory worker shut that down with a firm “Do not touch it” to which Harris responded, “I’m glad I asked.”
The worker added “do not touch any of the poly – it is very sharp.” The VP added, “and shiny!”

A gaffe worth its weight in silicon.
The cringe-worthy moment wasn’t lost on the internet. Social media users swiftly labeled it a real-life “Veep” episode. One commentator quipped, “Next she’ll try staring at the sun during an eclipse.” Another jabbed, “The silicone might be razor-sharp, but Kamala sure isn’t.”
Factory tour turned comedy tour?
Kamala’s Michigan visit was meant to boost semiconductor jobs, but instead, it highlighted her knack for awkward moments. It’s safe to say this stop will be remembered less for policy and more for wanting to touch sharp and shiny objects.
