Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon turned political firebrand, made waves at Michigan State University last week at an event hosted by the MSU Chapter of Turning Point USA, when he hinted that saving America might just require a bit more than spirited debates or spats on X– it might take some good old-fashioned martyrdom.
The State News reported that in his own calm and collected style, when Carson was asked if he thought people, like the ones in the Revolutionary War, would have to give up their lives to defeat the people currently in power, he told a packed room of conservatives, “we may have to.”
Now, if you’ve ever wondered what it would take for a soft-spoken doctor to suggest you should pack your bags and march to battle, Carson laid it out pretty clearly: standing up for what’s right, even if it’s a fight to the finish. Apparently, any inconvenience you suffer here is just a “drop in the bucket against the backdrop of eternity.”
The crowd seemed to be on board with what Carson said and gave him what the State News called “thunderous applause.”
Judeo-Christian values: a non-negotiable.
For Carson, the decline of America can be traced back to one major fault – our collective drift away from Judeo-Christian values. Forget economic policy or foreign affairs; what’s really bothering him is America’s fall from grace when it comes to morality. According to Carson, abortion, “sexual perversion,” and the breakdown of the traditional family are all symptoms of a nation that’s losing its way.
In a nod to a bygone era, Carson painted a picture of small-town America where neighbors helped each other out of the goodness of their hearts and the common good reigned supreme. These days, Carson said that thanks to abortion, we are a country that’s lost its respect for life – and for each other. Add in the political divide including the insane Trump hatred and things have become even worse.
The real enemy: communism, obviously.
Carson also warned that America is on the brink of becoming a godless, communist wasteland. His evidence? A list of 45 Communist Goals read into Congress in 1963 that, according to him, are playing out right before our very eyes. From normalizing homosexuality to promoting promiscuity in schools, Carson says it’s all part of a grand plot to destroy America as we know it.
And just in case you thought that it was an exaggeration for Carson to say that we might have to literally fight for our rights, he was quick to remind the crowd that the soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy didn’t think twice about giving their lives for the cause so that Americans can live in peace and freedom.
The final call: are you ready to fight?
In true Carson fashion, his message wasn’t all gloom and doom. He didn’t just point out how far we’ve fallen. He’s also ready to rally the troops. His speech wasn’t just about diagnosing America’s problems – it was a battle cry, urging everyday Americans to stand up, speak out, and refuse to be cancelled by the woke mob. He wants patriotic Americans to get engaged. To “Fight! Fight! Fight!” as Trump said when he rose to his feet after the first assassination attempt on his life.
So, are you ready to suit up and head into the fray? According to Carson, you might not have a choice. According to him, to decide whether you’re willing to fight for America – or watch it crumble.
