Is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about to lay down his hand and join Donald Trump’s game? Kennedy’s presidential campaign, already a mix of surprises and unexpected turns, might be dealing another shocker: abandoning his independent run to back the former president.

Kennedy, the man who started out trying to dethrone Joe Biden as a Democrat (and then went rogue) could be considering a spot in Trump’s corner. In the crazy 2024 political poker game, it seems no move is off the table.

Shanahan hints at folding.

Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, recently hinted at folding their hand and endorsing Trump. According to her, it’s either stick with their losing streak or jump ship to avoid splitting the vote and risk a Harris-Waltz administration.

She casually mentioned this during an interview on Impact Theory, turning a political strategy discussion into what felt more like a therapy session for frustrated independents. But when your campaign bankroll is as thin as a discarded card, you start looking for a winning hand anywhere you can.

Trump’s poker face: “Uh, Sure, Maybe?”

When asked if he’d consider giving Kennedy a spot in his administration if Kennedy endorsed him, the former president seemed both surprised and intrigued by the question posed by CNN. Trump said he’d like his endorsement and that he’s always liked Kennedy. When pressed on whether Trump would put Kennedy in his cabinet, he said, “I like him a lot. I respect him a lot. Uh…I probably would if something like that would happen.”

So…A Kennedy-Trump team-up? Stranger things have happened – like the time Kennedy dumped a dead bear cub in Central Park. Yes, that really happened.

As the 2024 election cards are dealt, Kennedy faces a critical decision: double down on his independent bid or toss in his chips and align with Trump. His next move could either solidify his maverick reputation or turn him into Trump’s wild card. If Kennedy does join forces with Trump, his supporters will have to decide whether to bet on this new alliance or fold and walk away from the table.

Meanwhile, Just the News reports that Kennedy will address the nation on Friday about his “path forward.” With both Trump and Kennedy nearby in Phoenix on that day, anything can happen – and it’s not a moment too soon for Trump as absentee voting starts September 6th in North Carolina and then many other states follow suit with early voting and absentee ballots being sent in sooner than people think.
