The Dems know that their ship has sunk. The jig is up. The game is over. The curtain has fallen. They are down for the count in their quest to save democracy from the small orange hands of Donald J. Trump.
Seems like everyone is “Bailin’ on Biden” these days – Dem politicians, the media, celebrities, voters… it’s the new fad, the new “cool” thing to do. It’s blowing up, gaining traction, and spreading like wildfire.
George Clooney joins the Bailin’ on Biden bandwagon.
Even actor and lifelong Democrat George Clooney has jumped on the Bailin’ on Biden tour. In an op-ed he wrote for the New York Times on Wednesday, he’s doing what I predicted the Dems are going to start doing in order to kick Biden to the curb. They’re going to start telling everyone the truth about what’s been going on.
Clooney’s truth is this: “…the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”
Yep. More and more of these stories are going to start coming out. The Dems were fine lying to us all of this time – and for years. That’s because Biden was the perfect frontman for another Obama presidency and getting all of their nasty progressing tyrannical stuff done. Now Biden has outgrown his usefulness.
I’m not even sure Jill can save him now. But Joe and his family are dug in. They need Joe’s power and his access to getting them money. The Dems are going to have to offer something BIGLY to Joe and Jill and Hunter to get them to bow out. But will the Biden’s take the bribe and take delivery of the message?
With Clooney and the New York Times and Rob Reiner and big donors and others practically shoving Biden off the stage after his calamitous debate performance (and subsequent inadequacies), Clooney’s critique wasn’t just a minor slap on the wrist; it was a full-blown Hollywood walk-off.
“Time’s Up, Joe”
Clooney, who’s raised more cash for 81-year-old Biden than a Marvel movie at the box office, didn’t hold back. He called out the Democratic party for their relentless defense of Biden’s deteriorating health – even though Clooney hasn’t exactly been forthcoming about Biden’s condition either.
Clooney made the obvious clear: Biden can’t win the “battle against time.” This wasn’t just a friendly nudge; it was a declaration of defeat. And let’s face it, when George Clooney tells you to step aside, it’s like your mom telling you that you really can’t pull off skinny jeans anymore.
Clooney said in his op-ed about those covering up Biden’s condition and living in denial, “Our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we just saw. We’re all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign.”
Clooney vs. Biden: the great friend breakup.
The Clooney-Biden bromance, once tighter than Clooney’s Ocean’s Eleven crew, has hit some rough patches lately. Clooney was reportedly livid when Biden trashed his wife Amal’s legal crusade against Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
Still, Clooney threw a swanky fundraiser for Biden in June, which raised a whopping $30 million. But the party mood soured when a video showed Obama practically dragging a dazed Biden off stage. That gesture might have been the first actual public realization for many that Biden is finished, kaput, toast, washed up, and past his prime.
Democrats join the chorus of concern.
Michael Douglas, another Hollywood heavyweight, echoed Clooney’s concerns about Biden on “The View.” Even Nancy Pelosi, usually Biden’s cheerleader, hinted recently that the clock’s ticking for Biden to decide what he’s going to do. Democrats are whispering what Clooney’s shouting: Biden’s struggling, and it’s hurting their chances across the board.
But what about nut job Robert De Niro? Bette Middler? Julia Roberts? Cher? So far, they still seem to be ridin’ with Biden – or at least they haven’t come out against him yet. But there’s no telling how long that will last.
Biden’s stubborn stand.
Despite the Hollywood backlash, Biden’s digging in his heels – at least so far. In a letter to Democratic lawmakers, he doubled down on his commitment to the race, vowing to defeat Trump. Some Democrats are sticking with him, but the cracks in the support base are showing.
So, as Clooney and a growing list of Democrats call for change, Biden’s campaign faces a dramatic plot twist. Will Biden exit stage left, or will he cling to the spotlight? Whatever happens, it’s been truly entertaining to watch. The Democrats, who usually have a plan and a back-up plan and 20 back-up plans after that, seem to be in disarray – and it’s a thing of beauty.
