Time marches on. Time waits for no one. In the blink of an eye…
Rush Hudson Limbaugh III died three years ago on February 17, 2021. Sometimes it seems like a long time ago. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday.
So much has happened since then. So much that we’d like to hear Rush discuss, analyze, contemplate, scrutinize, evaluate, dissect, make fun of and put in historical context.
I’m sure most of us remember that morning. We remember the words that were spoken by his wife, Kathryn, through the Golden Microphone that fateful day.
Not ready for our mentor to leave us.
Even though we knew the day was coming when Rush would no longer be with us, we still weren’t ready for it. We weren’t ready for her to tell us that Rush had passed away due to complications of lung cancer.
Calling him the “greatest of all time,” Kathryn eulogized her husband by saying, “Rush was an extraordinary man, a gentile giant, brilliant, quick-witted, genuinely kind, extremely generous, passionate, courageous and the hardest working person I know.”
She was saying what we already knew and felt about him.
An “unwavering patriot” Kathryn reminded us about how patriotic Rush truly was.
We are left to fight.
And we are left to pick up the mantle – no matter how discouraged we may be. We are still here on this earth which means we have to fight for our country. We don’t give up.
Rush never told us it was time to panic and he finally admitted in his last year of life that he was never going to tell us that it was time to panic.
We will never give up on our country.
He said, “We’re never going to give up on America.”
He told us we should be constantly searching, strategizing and coming up with ways to prevail, saying, “America is worth fighting for.”
We all need to listen to the Doctor of Democracy and keep fighting for our country. No matter what.
