59-year-old actor Ian Ziering who played “Steve Sanders” on the teenage hit drama “90210” was attacked in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve in the middle of a day (on a Sunday) by a gang of motorized mini-bikers (including what appears to be a woman) after getting out of his car to survey damage to his vehicle. His car may had been hit prior to him exiting his vehicle when the bikers were weaving in and out of traffic.
It appears in the TMZ video [1] that the mini-bikers approached Ziering’s car when he got stuck in traffic and the actor exited the vehicle. It also appears that Ziering swings the first punch while his 10-year- old daughter sits in the car. A brawl ensued with four mini-bikers punching and kicking the actor before he sprinted across Hollywood Boulevard.
Ziering went on his Instagram account [2] on Monday to explain what happened.
Ziering said, “Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”
Ziering continued, “I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace. This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets. and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”
Ziering went on to say, “I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety. We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences.”
An official report has been taken but it’s not known if arrests have been made. If there HAVE been arrests of the mini-bikers, I doubt they are in still in jail under the new Democratic laws that protect the criminals from law-abiding citizens and their racist and cruel ideas of justice.
By the way, after watching the video and what appears to be Ziering’s swing at the mini-bikers before they went after him, I would say that the correct response to the situation would have been for him to keep his windows rolled up and to call 911 when the mini-bikers approached his vehicle – and not become part of the problem. So there was bad behavior for everyone involved, it seems and they ALL should be charged accordingly.
