The question you’re asking is “Which one, Steve?”
And I completely understand how it’s not clear anymore. It seems to me that ever since the pandemic fear-mongering was foisted upon us by governments all over the world, we have been living through one crisis after another. I’m not even talking about the ones they make up along the way like global warming and man-made climate change.
I am only talking about the ones they created either intentionally or through sheer incompetence. It doesn’t really matter how we got here—we are here, and it is an absolute mess.
So, let’s go down the list that affects you and me the most. The economy is a mess, with interest rates killing people’s dreams of buying a home, a used car, or even going on a quick vacation. Those things are simply out of reach for millions of us—and it wasn’t that way before Joe Biden came into the White House.
The price of everything is going through the roof—and this is why a little bit of math matters. According to NBC News, the buying power of your dollars—the ones you are saving for a rainy day—has been cut in half since the end of 2020. That’s right, the printing of billions of dollars by an out-of-control administration has stripped people of the ability to afford a whole host of things. As prices soar right alongside interest rates—it is leaving millions on the sidelines.
Next on the list is the wide-open southern border. The feckless weasels in Washington keep telling us it’s secure, but, of course, it’s not. Joe Biden is asking for $14 billion to disperse to millions of illegal aliens all over the country. Yep, he wants to send you the bill to destroy the meaning of American citizenship—how glorious is that? I don’t remember learning about that in government class, do you?
We also have the ongoing paralyzed mess that is the Republican Party. After a few rebels joined with 210 Democrats to toss out Kevin McCarthy as Speaker it was on to Jim Jordan, and that failed. Today there are nine new candidates—it’s a mess!
Then, of course, there is the huge mess in Ukraine that we are funding to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. But the biggest mess of all is the ongoing war in the Middle East. The mess has settled into Western nations—where tens of thousands are turning out to support the butchers known as Hamas. It’s not just happening in other countries. It’s happening right here, too.
Over the weekend, the leader of Detroit’s Jewish community, a 40-year-old, well-connected Democrat, was stabbed to death in front of her home. Even though it’s an ongoing investigation and no suspects have been identified yet, I know what I thought when I first heard the news—and you probably thought the same thing. This was some kind of revenge killing.
Now, I will wait for the facts to come out before I make any final determinations, but that is where my mind went first.
And what about those ripping America for supporting Israel’s right to defend itself?
The usual suspects were out in force, Ilhan Omar chief among them, calling for Israel’s acts of self-defense to be condemned. She is particularly mad about the Israeli bombing of military targets in Gaza. She’s not so mad about the murder of Jewish children and the elderly, however.
But Israel bombing Gaza relentlessly could be just an early part of what could become a global war. That’s right, we are staring at the distinct possibility of a much larger war.
Iran could be the pin in the grenade. Iran told Israel that if they go into Gaza with ground troops, it will open the gates of Hell. Israel says if Hezbollah or any other Iranian-linked military attack comes its way, Tehran and the mullahs will get the same treatment as Gaza. That, of course, could bring retaliation from several Arab countries that would not be able to sit on the sidelines—even though most despise Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah.
Yeah, what a mess.
Don’t forget that we gifted $6 billion to Iran in the form of lifted sanctions. But trust the government, guys. They know what they’re doing.
So, you must wonder, do we actually have a game plan for the war in the Middle East?
Right now, I am not seeing anything that gives me confidence that this administration can handle any of these problems right now.
And I am not enamored with the Republicans in large part either. All the usual warmongers are out in force—and they seem quite comfortable sending the American military back onto the battlefield.

This brings me to the question of why Democrats and Republicans want to tie three of these big problems together and stick you and me with yet another massive bill.
It makes zero sense to tie Ukraine, Israel, and the border all together in one spending bill—but that is what both sides are pushing right now.
Both McConnell and Blinken went on TV to argue for the spending bill. Of course, they say it’s the end of the world if we don’t pass it.
This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg because the messes we are faced with are monumental—and maybe that is all part of the master plan. They want to keep us all off balance, so when they come down with some ridiculous demands, like “hide in your house and don’t come out until we tell you it’s safe,” people will comply as they did in March 2020.
I think we are at a different point in history right now—and I don’t think the world seems very compliant. Sadly, I think this mess will soon get a whole hell of a lot bigger!
