Celebrities are narcissists and a lot of them have a low self esteem and crave the approval of others. That’s why so many of them mouth off all the time, pretending to care about the little people, popular issues and the marginalized. When in fact, what they crave is attention and acceptance. Money and fame.
And they hide each other’s secrets. Actress Jodie Foster is gay and everyone in Hollywood knew it for quite some time. She had been taking her partner to award shows for years. And they have two kids. It all went unreported until she decided to “come-out” publicly at the Golden Globes in 2013 when she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.
Harvey Weinstein was a predator. So was Roman Polanski. So is Woody Allen. All protected. Hollywood protects its own for the most part unless there is something it it for them not to. They keep each other’s secrets.
Now we find out that Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been separated for seven years. For the sake of their careers, it hasn’t been made public while they work out their crap. They even made their kids lie about it. At first, I couldn’t figure out why Jada told the truth and spilled the beans on the whole thing during an interview but then I saw that she has a new book that just came out called “Worthy.” So this is all one big PR move.
Will Smith finally broke his silence to the NYT after Jada outed their separation. He told them, “When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.”
Who talks like that? Seriously…
It kind of makes sense now about Will’s over-reaction to a Chris Rock joke at the Oscars where he went on stage and punched him. It probably happened because Will thought that’s what people would “expect” him to do.
So the Smiths have been frauds all of this time. And no, I don’t believe that it was some big secret. I’m sure that plenty of people knew about it including those in the media. But the media isn’t really the media anymore. They are advocates for the people and causes they like and they decided to keep the Smith secret a secret.
Frauds. If you think about it, that’s what most actors are. They are pretending to be someone and something they are not. Frauds. They’re good at lying. Professionals, in fact.
There’s a code of silence in Hollywood (and with their media pals) and that’s not going to change anytime soon.
