The Democrats and the leftists in their party have destroyed just about every institution in the country – schools, the media, the military, science… and as we all came to realize during the pandemic, also the medical field.
Some of their insanity was evidenced by things like supporting Black Lives Matter protests when COVID-19 was running rampant. Apparently, the “disease” of social injustice was a worse calamity than a virus that kills millions. Then they went after Ivermectin and other successful COVID-19 therapies because Trump and other Republicans supported them. And none of us will forget the un- science medical information that was coming out of Dr. Fauci’s mouth every day.
Now we learn that the medical field has decided to hitch their wagon to the transgender insanity of supporting the alteration of the biological sex of children. Yes, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is actually reaffirming their 2018 position on gender-related treatments for children.
Their press release says that the other psychos in the medical field including the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the World Health Organization also support giving transgender adolescents access to the health care they need.
The AAP recommends “that youth who identify as TGD (transgender and gender diverse) have access to comprehensive, gender-affirming, and developmentally appropriate health care that is provided in a safe and inclusive clinical space” and “that insurance plans offer coverage for health care that is specific to the needs of youth who identify as TGD, including coverage for medical, psychological, and, when indicated, surgical gender-affirming interventions.”
Apparently, according to dnyuz.com all 16 board members of the AAP, which represents 67,000 pediatricians across the country, voted to reaffirm the 2018 guidelines at a meeting on Thursday, August 3rd in Illinois. They also recently condemned legislative bans on “gender-affirming care” as a “dangerous intrusion” into complex medical decisions between doctors and families.
No, I don’t think so. Long-lasting medical intrusion on children is what they are doing on someone who isn’t grown up enough to know what kind of future they want to live. Children can’t possibly understand the future consequences that a decision made by a ten-year-old will have on the rest of their lives. That’s why they are called children. And it’s not like the AAP has outlined any age- appropriate guidelines or age limits on anything.
The AAP is making this decision on a lack of what many call “rigorous review.” In fact, in their position, the AAP actually says about their report, “It is not a comprehensive review of clinical approaches and nuances to pediatric care for children and youth that identify as TGD.”
Nevertheless, they outline a long list of “gender-affirming care” in their report including social affirmation (clothing, pronoun changes, etc.), legal affirmation (name changes on documents), medical affirmation (using cross-sex hormones to delay puberty) and surgical affirmation. Yes, that would be IRREVERSIBLE surgical affirmation.
But as long as the leftist AAP “feels” good about their position and they project themselves to be diverse and caring, that’s all that really matters. The altered and often devastating futures of children who get “gender-affirming care” doesn’t really appear to be of any concern to them. I see no studies pointed to on the long-term physical or psychological affects of “gender-affirming” care.
Hey kids, just do what you want. That’s what the AAP is promoting. And the folks who are supposed to be the adults in the room – the parents, the medical doctors and the psychiatrists, they will go along with what that child wants.
Especially if it pisses off the Republicans. That is what is really driving this. Politics. It’s the new cause of the Democrat party and, as we are seeing, they are willing to have the credibility of the medial field destroyed in the process.
