First it was the Democrats promising Black Americans free money in the form of reparations for something that didn’t happen to them (slavery). But because they are descendants of slaves and have been marginalized and racially targeted for years, the Democrat governments who are trying to buy votes and virtue signal, have said they deserve billions of dollars.
So in a nutshell, because there were some racist pigs somewhere out there that kept a person of color from getting a job or made it hard for them to get a mortgage or a college degree – or because a local government built a racist highway somewhere – my hard-earned taxpayer money will get funneled to a descendant of a slave – even though I’ve done nothing racist, nothing to hold anyone back from anything (including people of color) and my lineage has yielded no slaveholders (unlike Barack Obama).
Seems fair, right? No, I don’t think so.
On top of all of the resources that the Democrats are bestowing upon their minority voting base, they also want to hand them free money (reparations) to keep them voting for Democrats for decades to come – just in case the whole importation of illegal alien thing doesn’t work out for them.
However, now that the invoice is due, even Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is balking on paying the bill. Even though the Reparations Task Force in California recommended coughing up about $900 billion – or about $1.2 million per person (more than 2.5x California’s annual budget), Newsom seems to be putting the breaks on things.
The leftist governor said in a statement, “Dealing with that legacy is about much more than cash payments.” LOL. Yes, I’m sure it is. Spoken by someone who doesn’t actually want to part with cash.
Newsom also says it was an important “process.” LOL again. So the bottom line is that he’s still working on it. And he may always be working on it – at least until the pitchforks start coming out and the freeloaders show up at his house.
So reparations could still happen even if it comes slowly – in California and other places in the country. And because it’s such a grand idea, the Native Americans are also getting into the game and holding out their hands too.
The Native Americans are upset about something that happened centuries ago when former Prez Abe Lincoln signed the Morrill Act in 1862. According to the Daily Mail, the law converted tribal lands into initial sites for land-grant higher education institutions in many states. Now, the Native Americans want to be paid for their stolen land – which is reported to be an estimated 10.7 million acres that were taken from 250 tribes.
The University of Minnesota is one of the colleges being targeted because they reportedly got more than 94K acres of land. In a statement at a board meeting in May, the college said, “We welcome the opportunity to examine the university’s history. It is important that we work in collaboration with the tribal nations to chart our course from here.”
Yes, examine. Form a committee. Study the issue. It’s a process.
So just like Newsom, the colleges are in the information gathering mode – a fact finding mission – and who knows how long that will take. Probably until the issue dies down – they hope. Meanwhile, pretending they care and giving platitudes is their chosen course of action. And making small gestures to look sympathetic to the cause like when the The University of Wisconsin at Madison, in 2021, displayed a flag of the Ho-Chunk Nation to acknowledge land taken from the tribe.
The Native Americans have their supporters like leftist ice cream icons Ben & Jerry who tweeted on July 4th “This 4th of July, it’s high time we recognize that the U.S. exists on stolen indigenous land and commit to returning it. Learn more and take action.”
The tweet failed BIGLY though as Donald Trump would say. Newsweek reports that the land that Ben & Jerry’s headquarters sits on in Vermont is actually stolen land and Don Stevens, chief of the Nulhegan Band of The Coosuk Abenaki Nation, wants the land back. However, not surprisingly, Ben & Jerry haven’t talked to him about returning the land to the indigenous people. Of course not. Like most Democrats, they don’t walk the talk or actually believe what they preach. They don’t think what they demand from others should apply to them. In other words, they are frauds and this proves it.
To play devil’s advocate, maybe returning all of the America’s lands to the indigenous people could work out well for us – if that means we can get rid of our current government. I’d like to keep the Constitution but get rid of both the House and Senate and start over with indigenous folks running the country and the land on it.
The outcome of this could possibly turn out better than our current circumstances. I don’t think it would be much worse. How could it be?! But I digress…
I’m guessing that this reparations push from the the tribes means that they must not be making enough money from their casinos right now and that’s why they need some free money from the schools? Free money from colleges and universities who are getting free money from me in the form of taxpayer money.

In Michigan alone, at three Detroit Casinos, they had a revenue of $105.6 million for the month of May. Revenue that they don’t have to pay federal or state taxes on. I can see how that wouldn’t be enough money to live a comfortable life. I can see where there would be a need to steal tax money from non-indigenous people who make less than $50K a year – tax money that gets funneled to colleges and universities by our lovely representatives in government.
So again, because of something that happened centuries ago – something that had nothing to do with me, a group of people are demanding that my money goes to them for reparations? No, I don’t think so.
Can I get reparations because my great great aunt didn’t get job in 1907 because she was a woman? How do I get my $2.3 million for that???!
