When the rule of law breaks down in a country, whether it has to do with big things or little things, it’s the beginning of the end for a civil society. In the United States right now, it is plain to see that we are headed that way.

There is no law at the southern border. There is no justice for victims in the country when they are attacked by criminals. Police are underfunded and understaffed. Homeless, addicts, and criminals of all shapes and sizes see the writing on the wall –

and that writing says “do what you want to do” because chances are you won’t get caught. And if you do, you will not pay much of a price.

The youth of today are spoiled in all kinds of ways. They are told they are special when they are not. They are given a free pass to move through school even when they are taught nothing that will help them be successful in life.

They live off their parents hard work, caring around cell phones, wearing nice tennis shoes and they are free to mostly do what they want with parents acting more like a “friend” than any kind of disciplinarian.

Add to that, kids basically raising themselves because they are in homes with single mothers, with no father in the home (or in their lives at all). Then you have schools afraid to discipline any of their students… you have a recipe for disaster.

American Wire News reported such a disaster on a beach in California over the weekend when a mob of about 40 teenagers beat up three Marines.

On Friday night, the teenage mob was being unruly, lighting off fireworks, being obnoxious and annoying others at the beach.

One of three Marines who had gone to the beach earlier to enjoy some time away from Camp Pendleton went up to the teenagers and asked them to stop.

What did he get for trying to bring about civility? A blow to the head from one of the teens and then other teenagers joined in to stomp on and beat up the other Marines as well.

Finally, two folks passing by tried to stop what was going on. Luckily, no major injuries were reported and the Marines didn’t end up going to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated. But we won’t hold our breath for any actual accountability or jail time. Because that’s now how things go down in this new Democrat-run pro-criminal America.
