In a political and woke move, Hershey decided to put a trans woman on a candy bar. Even though candy bars are often associated with children, they decided to do what Disney did and offend parents – not to mention people who are just sick of all of the woke stuff being forced on them.
The Hershey Company launched their campaign in Canada as (ironically) a way to promote “International Women’s Day” – but instead of actually promoting women, they chose to promoting a fake woman with one of their candy bars. This is not unlike M&Ms, another candy that decided to get into politics instead of just sticking with what they do best – make candy.
Market Watch [1] reports that the trans Hershey bars led to the hashtag #BoycottHersheys to be trending last Thursday.
The Hershey Co. highlighted five people on their candy bars: Autumn Peltier, Indigenous Rights and Water Activist; Fae Johnstone, 2SLGBTQIA+ Advocate; Rita Audi, Gender and Education Equality Activist; Naila Moloo, Climate Tech Researcher; and Kélicia Massala, founder of Girl Up Québec. All woke activism choices.
The Hershey Co. press release says, “HER for SHE 2023 is a powerful and exciting continuation of the inaugural 2022 Canadian campaign, which brought exceptional women’s stories to light…”
However, Far Johnstone [2] is not a woman.
In an effort to push back against the woke chocolate, the Daily Wire’s Jeremy Boreing has offered an alternative to the HER for SHE chocolate bars. Fox News [3] reports that after seeing an ad for Hershey’s chocolate bar featuring a transgender woman, Boreing decided to compete with them and launch his candy bars.
He released his own commercial and encouraged folks to stop supporting “woke chocolate companies that hate you.” He showcased his own candy bars called “HeHim” and “SheHer” and said that “one of ‘em’s got nuts.”
