If you took a photo of the inside of the Capitol on January 6th, you could be in jail for ten years but if you are accused of raping a teenager, you don’t even have to spend an hour in jail after your arrest.
A North Carolina Black man, a paramedic, was released from jail 37 minutes after he was arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old during a medical emergency in an ambulance. Breitbart News reports that the results of a sexual assault kit and witness testimony led to the man’s arrest – the bail system in the county allowed him to be releases on a $15K unsecured bond less than an hour after he was arrested.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said to reporters, “I think it’s important that we have to stop sometimes and ask ourselves, you know, what kind of message are we sending to our victims? Our most vulnerable people within our society? That someone can basically create such a crime or do such a crime as this one, and walk right out the door, probably before our officers and our detectives and all of our people that worked on this case, probably before they even got back to their desk.”

I think we all know what message is being sent. If you keep voting Democrat, you can do what you want. Their pro-criminal policies will continue across the United States and they won’t be stopped until the progressive losers are voted out of office.
In New York City, a record number of police officers are resigning because of the situation they find themselves in, including the crime-wave that the Democrats are perpetuating. They’re probably wonder why they should even bother arresting anyone if they get out of jail right away – and are plea bargained down, allowing them to commit crimes over and over again.
The New York Post reports that “239 officers tapped out in January and February, a 36% increase from the 176 who fled in the same period last year and a disturbing 117% jump from 110 in 2021.”
The way that police officers are treated by their communities and the city and county governments that they work for offers no incentive for them stick around. A NYC police officer told the Post “Precinct cops are being forced to work an inhumane amount of overtime, including on their days off, while being penalized for minor uniform and administrative infractions…Meanwhile, precincts barely have enough personnel to meet the minimum required to safely answer 911 calls…New York City’s Finest are also bailing because of what they consider anti-cop politics, woke bail reform policies that make criminal justice a revolving door and low wages.”
The exodus started after the murder of George Floyd and the “Defund the Police” movement sprung up. The once exalted NYPD who were praised after September 11th have become a political target of the Democrat party, as have police officers everywhere else, putting the entire county at risk.
