The Democrats never seem to rest from their mission to protect criminals whether it’s reduced sentences, no cash bail, not prosecuting crimes at all or trying to get them off death row.
Pennsylvania’s Democrat Governor, Josh Shapiro, doesn’t want police and child killers to have to pay for their crimes with their lives because that would just be mean.
According to the Daily Caller [1], he said he wouldn’t be signing any execution warrants during his term and wants the State Assembly to abolish the death penalty.
He said, “When an execution warrant comes to my desk, I will sign a reprieve each and every time.”
Unfortunately, Pennsylvania law requires that the governor of the state sign the execution warrant before a criminal can be put to death for their crimes.
There are more than 100 men currently sentenced to death according to the Daily Caller, some of them having killed kids and law enforcement personnel. But that’s irrelevant to Democrats because they don’t believe in consequences for actions – and they certainly don’t think that killing off their voting base is a good idea.
Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus spokesperson Jason Gottesman told the Daily Caller, “At a time when Pennsylvanians are concerned about their personal safety and the safety of their families as we deal with a historic spike in violent crime, it is clear now is not the time to stop holding criminals to the highest level of accountability for the most heinous crimes.”
Shapiro disagrees. He doesn’t seem to care that juries found these men’s crimes bad enough to give them the death penalty after listening to what they did and hearing all of the evidence presented.
Among the criminals on death row is a man who murdered three police officers who said “I should have killed more of you;” a drug addict who killed his wife, mother-in-law, his two children and another kid with a hammer; a man who raped and killed a 15-year- old newspaper delivery girl; and a slime bucket who killed five people at two synagogues while they prayed.
Shapiro doesn’t think these crimes qualify for a death penalty. These are the the kinds of people that he wants the taxpayers to keep funding so they are comfortable in prison eating their free food, getting medical care, attending religious services, getting an education and being able to watch TV
