I really don’t give two cents (or two pounds) about the British royal family. I never have. I was not one of those who sat in front of the TV for hours watching the wedding of Diana and Charles. I think it’s ridiculous that you get some sort of status and “control” over an entire population merely because you were born into a certain family. I also did not watch the endless coverage of the Queen’s death. Not my cup of tea.
In the beginning, from the little media that I was forced to watch about the subject, I thought that Prince Harry was getting a raw deal from his family for trying to make a life of his own. For trying to stand by a wife that he loved and shield his family from the obligations and tyranny of a royal life that he was not interested in continuing to live.
However, the dude has turned into a media whore. Instead of Harry and Meghan actually “moving on” and having a new life in America, they have turned trashing Harry’s family into their new career endeavor.
Day after day, it’s a new interview or book or TV special or whatever. In order for the Markles to be relevant every day, they get on the news or social media and whine, complain and make themselves victims in their “poor me” reality TV series. Sorry, but it’s not interesting whatsoever. And it doesn’t make me think any better of either one of them.
But I’m not alone. Breitbart News reports that a poll taken by more than 1,600 Brits for two days in January shows Harry’s favorability rating at a record low of 38 with only a quarter of British folks having a positive view of the Duke of Sussex.
I bet that Harry would poll even worse in America.
I doubt that Americans are breathlessly awaiting his book release today. I’m certainly not.
No, I’m more interested in the other things going on during January 10th including Bittersweet Chocolate Day, National Oysters Rockefeller Day and my favorite…
National Peculiar People Day.
There’s a perfect holiday for most of my friends and family to celebrate. I won’t name names.
