For days and days and days and weeks and months, Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer told us on her personal Twitter feed that she’s “fighting like hell” for abortion rights. Over and over again, we got the message. It seemed to be all that she cared about.
But now that the election is over and she doesn’t need votes anymore, her personal Twitter account is silent. It’s been silent since November 9th.
No posts about her kids or her vacations or anything else.
But during the campaign, day after day, it was a barrage of Gretchen tweets about fighting to kill unborn babies.
November 7th – “I will keep fighting like hell to protect our fundamental rights.”
November 5th – “This election will determine the future of abortion access in Michigan.”
November 5th – “Abortion is a fundamental right.”
November 4th – “This election will determine the future of abortion access in Michigan – and I will keep fighting like hell to protect our fundamental rights.”
October 31st – “From protecting abortion rights to safeguarding our democracy, there’s so much at stake on November 8th. I will keep fighting like hell to defend our rights and continue our historic progress.”
And on and on it went…
So, what’s the deal now?
Is she still fighting like hell for abortion? Or perhaps she’s too busy pardoning turkeys.
