Yes, leftists WILL try to get away with as much as they can – until they get caught. They just love their censorship and since they control so many social media platforms, search engines and other internet companies, it’s pretty easy to go after us.
With the election approaching soon and the possibility of the Democrats losing control of the House and Senate, they are doing what they need to do to rig another election.
For their part, PayPal decided they were going to fine people $2,500 a pop if you don’t agree with Democrat thought. They had updated their policy to say that their updated list of prohibited activities were now to include the “sending, posting, or publication of messages, content, or materials that meet certain criteria.” Yes, they were planning to appoint themselves as the thought and posting police.
In other words, if you are not a leftist, you were to be branded as spreading “misinformation” and fined $2,500 each time you participated in an activity that went against their policy.
They are the arbiters of the truth, as you know, and have vast knowledge on every subject – so much so they are the judge and jury and executioner of every word that you speak and every action that you do. Because you aren’t a mind-numbed robot who goes along with what the leftists want, you are clearly spreading misinformation.
The new policy was to have taken effect about a week before the midterm elections. Gee, what a coincidence!!!
Not only was PayPal going to deduct the money out of your PayPal account if you were spreading misinformation, they encouraged others to report you.
Even the previous president of PayPal came out and said they were nuts.
PayPal’s former president David Marcus tweeted, “It’s hard for me to openly criticize a company I used to love and gave so much to. But PayPal’s new AUP (acceptable use policy) goes against everything I believe in. A private company now gets to decide to take your money if you say something they disagree with. Insanity.”
David Sacks, a venture capitalist, agreed and told people, “Get your money out of PayPal right now.” Elon Musk commented on Marcus’ tweet by saying one word – “agreed.”
So with all of the bad PR going on after their announcement of the policy change, the company had to do a 180.
No, no, no, they said. It was all a mistake. They didn’t mean to send out the change in policy and the $2,500 fine.
Or course they didn’t (wink, wink).
Their trial balloon popped. People noticed. They were called out. So they had to come out in a hurry and say the notice came out in error and that “PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy.”
Right. Some computer somewhere just automatically generated the words with no human involvement whatsoever. I’m sure everyone is buying that.
Hopefully, they aren’t BUYING anything with PayPal and took Sacks advice before they try to censor everyone again.
