Back in the olden days, abortion was something to be hidden. For better or worse, it was something that most people considered to be a shame, an embarrassment, certainly NOT something to be shared publicly and definitely not a badge of honor.
But times have changed and the Democrat Party has made abortion an “in” thing now and openly discuss abortions as something to be proud of, no matter the reason.
Actress Jennifer Grey has explained how getting an abortion was good for her career and that not doing it would have been oppressive.. She told People Magazine, “I wouldn’t have my life. I wouldn’t have had the career I had, I wouldn’t have had anything…”
Singer Lily Allen posted on Instagram, “I wish people would stop posting examples of exceptional reasons for having abortions. Most people I know, myself included, just didn’t wan to have a f—-ing baby. AND THAT IS REASON ENOUGH! WE DON’T HAVE TO JUSTIFY IT.”
Actress Uma Thurman called her abortion a “path to the life of full joy.”
Over the years, the Democrats have re-named the killing of babies in the womb as “choice” and openly protest, legislate and argue in favor of being able to have that choice with little to no restrictions. They actually call the procedure “health care.”
In fact, Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer made sure that abortion clinics stayed open during the pandemic because it was “life-sustaining” health care. She did this while shutting down all kinds of other businesses all over the state including shutting the doors of doctor’s offices and hospitals to cancer screenings and important surgeries that were deemed “elective” in the eyes of the Whitmer administration. Non- essential.
Whitmer, who is running for re-election, is on Twitter daily “fighting like Hell” for abortion and reproductive rights. She has done everything she can possibly do in her capacity as Governor to make sure abortion stays legal in Michigan since the Dobbs decision happened which overturned Roe v Wade.
It appears that she’s also fighting for abortion tourism in Michigan and issued an Executive Order that says the state won’t comply with requests from other states when their residents cross state lines to get an abortion in Michigan. In a statement, Whitmer said, “Visitors to Michigan must know that they can access reproductive health care within our borders without fear of extradition.”
She probably has a smile on her face because the number of abortions in Michigan that have been performed on out-of-state residents has more than doubled since the Dobbs decision.
In their arguments to keep abortion legal, the Democrats are not just claiming that abortion is good for a woman’s career anymore or a solution for those who don’t want to be burdened with motherhood. Now it’s also good for the economy.
Whitmer recently had a discussion about Proposal 3 with the Detroit Free Press editorial board. The proposal would enshrine abortion and reproductive rights into the state’s Constitution if passed by the voters. Hoping the proposal passes, she said, “I want to go into anti-choice states and start recruiting talent, start recruiting headquarters.”
She’d like to lure companies and workers away from states that want to protect the unborn. She told the newspaper, “I want to walk into Indiana and Ohio and eat their lunch.”
She sees the whole thing as a win for Michigan so that she can put more tax money into the coffers. “This is a huge opportunity for us,” she said.
