The oafish 45th president got his clock cleaned Tuesday in Georgia and in deep red Alabama, as Republican voters turned out in droves to tell him to piss off. Yup, Trump took the Midnight Loser Train to Georgia. Choo choo!
His carpetbagger routine didn’t work in the South, as Trump enemies won their respective races. Two of them, Georgia Republican incumbents Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger are especially hated by Trump because they wouldn’t cheat for him in the 2020 general election. On Tuesday, voters chose them over the loutish real estate mogul/politician from Queens.
This was the big grudge match, the night Trump would get payback for the heresies of Kemp and Raffensperger. But both stomped to victory, Kemp winning in a landslide. Granted, Trump has won in many other proxy races and his record in endorsement races is strong. But this was the main event, a Thrilla in Manila, a big enchilada, the place where Trump would have sweet revenge. Not quite, you illiterate yutz.
What does this say about his national clout? He was injured and is vulnerable. This will give encouragement to his possible 2024 Republican rivals. Which means the night in Georgia was a good one for the Republicans and America.
FNC: “Trump traveled to Georgia in late March to headline a rally for Perdue, starred in his campaign commercials, and called into two tele-rallies this month. But even though Trump retains immense sway over the GOP, his full court press didn’t boost Perdue in his uphill challenge of Kemp.
And the former president endorsed GOP Rep. Jody Hice, who was defeated in his challenge of Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who along with Kemp resisted Trump’s calls to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. And in neighboring Alabama, Rep. Mo Brooks made it into a runoff for the GOP Senate nomination even after Trump took back his endorsement of the congressman in March.”
A righteous victory for Brian Kemp, who did the right thing in 2020 under incredible pressure and turned back Trump’s attempted vendetta in crushing fashion based on his sterling record, courage, and political sure-footedness

“Georgia Republicans went to the ballot box and overwhelmingly endorsed four more years of our vision for this great state,” Kemp said in his primary night victory speech to happy, raucous, and large crowd at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta.
His opponent David Perdue was gracious in defeat. “I just called the governor and I congratulated him,” Perdue said Tuesday night, conceding the race. “I am fully supporting Brian Kemp…tomorrow morning you are going to hear me going to work…to make damn sure Stacey Abrams is not the next governor of Georgia.” No word from Trump. Typical act of a graceless buffoon.
Kemp added, “Our battle is far from over,” he said. “Tonight, the fight for the soul of our state begins to make sure that Stacey Abrams is not going to be our governor or the next president.” And finally, Trump backed Georgia GOP attorney general challenger John Gordon was squashed like a bug by incumbent Chris Carr. Fun.
