The reaction to my recent article “Lose Three Stars on the American Flag [1]” has been interesting. It was nearly the same when I wrote on the subject for the first time in 2019. In case you missed it, I propose the states of Washington, Oregon, and California split off from, or are kicked out of, the Union. The three states form their own country. They get the socialist multiculty government they want. We get a return to limited government and conservative majorities.
Friends called it “radical”. First time my analysis has ever been called that. But most just thought it was a hypothesis I wrote to fill space on a slow day and thus blew it off. They ignored the historical case. They ignored the political and cultural case. They just couldn’t envision it. Much like American Tories after the revolution, Germans just after 1945, and the British after 1947 and losing India, almost couldn’t envision the changes to their country. However, the changes surely came about regardless of their level of acknowledgement. So, certain readers, also denying the possibility of an unpleasant reality, figured just Kamioner on one of his private crusades. And then this tweet from Candace Owens…
I wonder if we’re moving past the point of reconciliation with the Left. Maybe we’d all be happier letting them pick a few states they can turn into their own country w/ no guns, no police, no statues, no genders, no flags, no men & no electricity.

And then this from a recent article in the Washington Times: “The divide between Trump and Biden voters is deep, wide and dangerous. The scope is unprecedented, and it will not be easily fixed,” said veteran analyst Larry J. Sabato, who is director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, about a 2021 study his center undertook.
“Biden and Trump voters do not see how working with the other side fits into a bigger picture or translates into benefits for them. If anything, they view compromise as contrary their own priorities. They are convinced that the other side is pursuing an agenda that is contrary to their interests, principles, and values. They are convinced they will suffer personally if the other side has their way…Illustrating the extent of the underlying divide, nearly 90% of voters on both sides agree that people like them won’t belong in America anymore if the ‘other side’ has its way, and more than 1 in 5 say they ‘agree completely’ that such is the case,” the study said.
And the kicker: “The polling found that 52% of Republicans and 41% of Democrats agreed that the situation in America is such that they would be in favor of the proverbial ‘red’ and ‘blue’ states each forming their own country.” Well now, just not me anymore.
True, Owens may have been speaking somewhat tongue in cheek. But that she would throw the idea out there at all bespeaks an acknowledgement that something that would have been unthinkable five years ago is now in the public discourse. And Sabato, a respected political scientist, wasn’t joking at all. His numbers are deadly serious. We have to start asking ourselves, in its current territorial incarnation, is this country past the point of no return?
