Aside from the bit about violent extremists in the United States, the speech made by former President George W. Bush [1] in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on September 11th over the weekend was pretty presidential and emotionally stirring.
And to be fair, when he talked about extremists in our own country, there’s the slight possibility that he was talking about the actual ones – Antifa and Black Lives Matter as opposed to the fake “white supremacist” threat that the Biden administration pretends to be in wild existence from sea to shining sea.
A very welcomed portion of Bush’s speech was the part where he assured the veterans of the fighting in the middle east that they did not serve for no reason and that their brothers and sisters did not die in vain.
In very much needed-to-be-heard words, President Bush said, “Let me speak directly to veterans and people in uniform. The cause you pursued at the call of duty is the noblest America has to offer. You have shielded your fellow citizens from danger. You have defended the beliefs of your country and advanced the rights of the downtrodden. You have been the face of hope and mercy in dark places. You have been a force for good in the world. Nothing that has followed — nothing — can tarnish your honor or diminish your accomplishments. To you and the honored dead, our country is forever grateful.”
In his speech, he went on to talk about a country that used to exist before the leftists went on steroids during the Obama presidency to destroy it with their hateful division tactics.
Bush talked about a unified country that helped each other.
He described a country where he saw “millions of people instinctively grab a neighbor’s hand and rally to the cause of one another.”
A country where religious bigotry and prejudice didn’t flow freely as it easily could have.
On Tuesday Californians go to the polls to make a decision. Do they retain a PC socialist in the gubernatorial mansion or do they kick him out and then possibly replace him with an eloquent black conservative? This is California, what do you think, given their recent electoral history, they will do? Exactly “.
In the nation he knows he talked about young people joining in service to their neighbors and the country.
A country united to stand strong and keep our country safe.
The sad fact is that rescuing and helping people from tragedy and disasters IS the only bipartisan thing left in America anymore because the democrats and their leftist media friends purposely divide the country by politics, race, gender, education, religion, income, social issues and now the pandemic.
The last thing that the democrats want is unity.
They want identity politics because it’s how they get votes.
Saving people and animals from peril is luckily still a unifying endeavor and it happened again this weekend when a cat was saved by football fans catching it in an American flag at a college game in Miami.
Americans go to work, be supportive and do heroic things when lives are at stake like they did on September 11th, 2001. The tragic circumstances of things like fire, flood and terrorism brings out the best of people in life and death moments.
But that’s the only unification we see anymore.
What we need is unification to keep our country safe to begin with but all we get are democrat politicians who put us in harm’s way every day with open borders, COVID-19 policies, their war on police and their disastrous foreign policy decisions.
And there are no young people who rush to sign up to serve our country like they did after September 11th. Who wants to serve under a president who will abandon Americans and their allies in the middle east? Who wants to serve under a president who will force them to take a vaccine and “you are racist” classes?
If you want to see the America that Bush knows, you’ll have to look at your own community to see if it’s still alive. Small town America might still be where the real America lives.
You’ll have to see if your local non-profits are actively involved in helping people and not indoctrinating them.
Do men still open doors for women?
Are people given a hand up and not a handout?
Does everyone stand for the national anthem at the local football game?
The democrats want to make sure there are two Americas so that their political base can thrive.
I’m just glad that I don’t live in theirs.
