Former President Barack Obama claimed on “The Ezra Klein Show” on Tuesday that his politics would not change if proof if UFOs and aliens existing came out.
“It’s interesting. It wouldn’t change my politics at all, right, because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating in the middle of space,” Obama said.
This came a month after Obama discussed UFOs while appearing on “The Late Late Show.”
“What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there are, there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory,” Obama said. “They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”
The Hill reported that President Joe Biden later laughed off Obama’s comments on this, saying “I would ask him again” as he ended a press conference.
“I would hope that the knowledge that there were aliens out there would solidify people’s sense that what we have in common is a little more important, but no doubt there would be immediate arguments about, like, well we need to spend a lot more money on weapons systems to defend ourselves,” Obama said today on the podcast. “And new religions would pop up, and who knows what kind of arguments we’d get into. We’re good at manufacturing arguments for each other.”
Last year, former President Donald Trump spoke out to say he’s seen some “very interesting” things about Roswell, the New Mexico city known for an alleged UFO event in 1947, according to Global News.
“I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting,” Trump said at the time.
Though UFOs have been a taboo subject for decades, there have been many unconfirmed and unexplained citings over the years. It remains to be seen whether proof of alien life and UFOs will come out at some point in the future.
