While President Biden and his administration have been silent on the “challenges” at the southern border doesn’t mean they haven’t been working to fix their mistake. Even with the Democrats banning reporters and journalists from visiting the border, details continue to leak of the crisis that is happening. Countless immigrants are crossing the border without repercussion and Biden appears to be helpless at stopping it. So, instead of trying to stop it, Biden has apparently decided to rent hotels to house the incoming hordes of immigrants. And take a wild guess who is going to pay the bill for these hotels? 

Department of Homeland Security was the first to announce that the Biden Administration had awarded a $86 million dollar contract to hotels that will house 1,200 migrant families crossing the border. The hotel rooms will be located in states along the border such as Texas and Arizona. The contracts are only for a six-month period, but officials say it could be extended if need be. 

But you still haven’t heard the best part. While Biden refrains from admitting there is a crisis, who do you think is paying for these hotel rooms – the American taxpayer.  

The news of Biden’s latest plan comes after reports that one migrant facility had reached over 700% capacity. Although reporters haven’t been able to visit, stories of children taking turns sleeping on the few beds available, and only being able to shower weekly have leaked to the press. But remember – this is not a crisis. 

On Friday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott attacked the Biden Administration for how they are handling the crisis at the border. “The Biden Administration has no excuse for subjecting these children to these kinds of conditions. President Biden’s refusal to address the border crisis is not only enabling criminal actors like human traffickers and smugglers, but it is exposing innocent unaccompanied children to illness and potentially unsafe living conditions. The administration must act now to keep these children safe, secure our border, and end this humanitarian crisis.”

Not stopping there, Abbott also went on Twitter to further spread the message that the Democrats are trying to suppress. “The Biden Admin. has turned a humanitarian crisis into a complete disaster. They were unprepared for open border policies.”

Just in February alone, there were record numbers of unaccompanied minors at the southern border, and this month is looking to set a record in itself.
