Trump Approval Rises, Biden Spent Big

With this election stated to be the longest in American history, with final legal results now expected in late December as a Christmas present for somebody, the polls and money continue to drive the post-electoral phase. Team Trump, in fundraising, continues to lag in performance and overdo it in frequency. They continue to sell the president’s message as if repeated annoyances will turn the tide. They won’t.

OAN: “President Donald Trump’s approval rating has improved in the week since the election, up 3% while his disapproval has dropped similarly, Rasmussen Reports said Tuesday. Fifty-two percent of likely voters approved of Trump’s job performance, up from 49% on Nov. 3, while the number of people disapproving of his job performance dropped to 47%, down from 50%. Of those approving, 42% strongly approved, while 39% strongly disapproved. Trump’s approval index, the difference between those that strongly approve and strongly disapprove, is the highest its been since Sept. 18, when he was plus-4…Only 56% of those who voted for Democrat Joe Biden said they were voting for him, with 29% saying they were casting a ballot against President Donald Trump, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll. Another 15% said they were not sure of the reason for their presidential selection. In contrast, among those who voted for Trump, 90% said they voted for the president, while only 8% said they were making their selection against Biden. According to the poll, 49% of likely voters said they chose Biden in the presidential election, while 45% picked Trump, and 4% voted for some other candidate.”

The Trump campaign’s underwhelming fundraising operation continues its below par activities. Now, when asking for cash, it screams, “This election isn’t over. The President needs YOUR HELP! We can’t allow the Left-wing MOB to undermine our Election. President Trump needs his fiercest and most loyal defenders, like YOU, to step up and FIGHT BACK!” It tells suckers to “contribute any amount right now to defend the integrity of our election.”

But the leftist British newspaper The Guardian notes that on the fundraising website, it also reads: “By donating through this page, you agree that your contribution to DJTFP (Donald J. Trump For President) will be allocated as follows (Multicandidate PAC amounts in parentheses): 50% of each contribution, up to a maximum of $2,800 ($5,000), to be designated toward DJTFP’s  2020 general election account for general election debt retirement until such debt is retired. 50% of each contribution, up to a maximum of $2,800 ($5,000), to be designated toward DJTFP’s Recount Account. Any amount that exceeds the applicable contribution limit for 2020 general election debt retirement, including any amounts donated to DJTFP after such debt has been retired, will be designated in full toward DJFTP’s Recount Account, up to a maximum of $2,800 ($5,000).”

And in more finance news, Joe Biden will set a record for the most expensive presidential campaign in history, Newsweek reported on Wednesday.

The Biden campaign raised more than $1.3 billion, amounting to nearly $18 per vote. Biden spending was also more than that for the Trump campaign, which spent more than $863 million, which amounted to less than $12 per vote. A poor showing indeed in fundraising for Team Trump.
