The Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Riddle me this possible scenario: After a decent interval following the resignation of Joe Biden, if he takes office, the Harris administration gets a bill through Congress, with Vichy Republican support, that mandates the confiscation of all handguns in the country. Those weapons are deemed “a threat to public health” under the new emergency provisions of the Coronavirus Act of 2021.
Further demonstrating Harris’s commitment to gun confiscation, the candidate called for a “Mandatory Buyback Program” during an October 3 MSNBC gun control forum and again during a November interview with NBC Nightly News.#2a

And Texas says, citing the 10th Amendment: No, come and take them. Other southern, midwestern, and western states follow their lead. The Supreme Court, with its new 15 member panel, backs up Harris. National Republicans are pleading with these states, where they still have congressional majorities, to wait until the GOP takes back the House. But Governor Greg Abbott of Texas tells Minority Leader Mitt Romney that’s too late, this train has already left the station. Unlikely? Think about it.
Kamala Harris and her wing of the Democrats, who are clearly in charge of their party, have been for draconian gun legislation for decades. They believe only their security guards and police units run by the hard left should own weapons. That will make it easier for their Antifa and Black Lives Matter mobs to terrorize recalcitrant areas into political submission.
We know Joe Biden is not long for this political world. Nancy Pelosi researching the 25th Amendment earlier this year was hint enough. On social media the hard left is already crowing about the bait and switch they pulled on American voters. It’ll be over health matters, mental or otherwise, and like Pope Benedict, Joe Biden will go into silent retirement with a lot of questions left unanswered.
If the GOP loses the Senate, a possibility as Republican votes don’t count in close races and Democrats just manufacture the votes they need to win, many Republican party types will take the attitude of, to quote Kent Brockman, “And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I’d like to remind them I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.” So Minority Leader Mitt Romney is definitely a possibility.
And wither Greg Abbott, Texas, and other states that still have a backbone? They won’t back down. The have National Guard units that won’t fire on their friends and neighbors. Neither will local military reserve units. Active duty units, someone might remind President Harris and SecDef Tlaib, take an oath to defend the Constitution against enemies “foreign and domestic.” Thus, how will the Democrats enforce their will? So the action could definitely switch to the states and governors pretty soon. That is, unless calmer heads prevail in DC, a scenario that, given the possible incoming administration, is not a smart bet.
