Prince Harry Is ‘Lost Forever’ After His Latest Stunt ‘Backfired,’ Royal Expert Warns

In honor of Remembrance Day, which is meant to honor those who have given their lives in defense of the United Kingdom, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had themselves be photographed laying a wreath down at a cemetery in Los Angeles. Now, however, royal expert Ingrid Seward is saying that this move has “backfired,” on the couple, as many view what they did as a “publicity stunt.”

The Sussex’s appeared to be on their own in the vast Los Angeles Cemetery,” Seward told The Sun [1]. “Then we learn they had employed the services of celebrity fashion photographer to record their every scripted move.”

“Did they sit there amongst the graves with rapper Kanye West’s favorite snapper, Lee Morgan choosing which frames to use as he pulled them up on his iPad,” she added. “The Sussex’s wanted it to look like they cared, which I am sure they did. But it backfired and looked like what it was – a publicity stunt.”

British television personality Piers Morgan had similarly negative feelings about Meghan and Harry’s photos, and he held nothing back as he blasted them on Twitter.

“My god, they’ve even turned Remembrance Sunday into another self-publicity stunt. Have they no shame?” Morgan tweeted alongside the photos.

Morgan later added, “Just outrageous – treating Remembrance Sunday like a PR opportunity, & trying to steal headlines from the real royals doing their duty back home.”

The Express [6] reported that there has been speculation that the photos may have been designed to get revenge on Buckingham Palace, which had reportedly Harry’s request to lay a wreath on his behalf at the Royal Family’s Remembrance service. His request was refused allegedly because Harry has stepped down as a senior royal, and therefore no longer represents the monarchy.

The Queen is said to not have been told about Harry’s request, and while Seward believes the monarch may have approved it, she added it would have been complicated politically.

“I am sure she might have agreed as first and foremost she is a Christian, she is the Defender of a Faith, which is all about forgiveness,” she said. “But the political implications might have been complicated if Harry was allowed a wreath.”

“Of course, Harry and Meghan aren’t trying to impress people like us,” Seward added. “It’s the Americans they are after, who would never question why a fashion photographer was directing their private wreath laying.”
