It’s been almost two weeks since former “Fuller House” star Lori Loughlin reported to a prison in Dublin, California to begin her two month sentence for her role in the college admissions scandal. Now, a source has come forward to reveal how her husband and two daughters are handling her incarceration.

“While the family is going through a difficult time, they are supporting each other,” the insider told US Weekly. “[They] understand that mistakes were made but that in order to move forward they need to forgive and move forward.”

Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison after she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pled guilty to charges related to them paying $500,000 in bribe money to have her two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison, and he is due to begin his time behind bars next week on November 19.

While Loughlin had also been given until that date to turn herself in, she decided to begin her sentence early on October 30 in the hopes of being released by the end of December so that she could start 2021 with a fresh clean slate.

“As of right now, Lori is being told she will be released before the New Year,” the source said. “Lori wants all this behind her as soon as possible so she can start next year off with a fresh start.”

One month before Loughlin began her sentence, her daughter Isabella, 21, and Olivia Jade, 20, were said to be “rattled” and were “focusing more on family.” The fact that her loved ones have been staying strong in her absence does not seem to have made prison any easier for Loughlin, however, as sources have said that she has been “struggling” since her sentence began.

“Lori is trying to keep her head low and just get through this ordeal,” another source told In Touch Magazine, adding that while “she’s been able to make calls and send emails, all monitored … every second feels like a lifetime in there.”

“Lori is living a real-life nightmare. Lori is hating life inside prison,” this insider added. “Her first days there were dreadful.”
