Fox News host Chris Wallace spoke out on Wednesday to express his doubts that President Donald Trump will ever concede the election to Joe Biden. While various media outlets have called the race for Biden, ballots are still being counted, and Trump has pledged to fight back by filing various lawsuits that he claims will prove widespread voter fraud.
“Well, I don’t think we’re going to see a presidential concession,” Wallace said while accepting the Poynter Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I think he clearly is going to pursue all of his legal cases,” he added, according to The Hill. “And as a reporter and I hope a fair one, we have to be open to the possibility that he will find something, and his team will find something serious.”
Many would argue that Wallace is far from a “fair” reporter, as his bias against Trump has reared it’s ugly head on numerous occasions. Wallace’s performance as a moderator of the first presidential debate this year was also widely panned on both sides of the aisle, as he quickly lost control of both candidates. Trump clashed with Wallace during and after the debate, accusing him of not asking Biden any tough questions.
Nevertheless, Wallace still thought it was his place to speak out against Trump while accepting this award.
“You’ve got to find serious fraud and you have to find fraud of a dimension that even if it’s true, it would actually flip the election,” he said.
“I will say, so far, every case of substance has been thrown out,” Wallace added. “I don’t think you’ll see the president concede in the next two weeks. I’m not sure you’ll ever see him concede. I hope at a certain point, though, that if he doesn’t come up with the goods, that either he or the people around him will move on and we’ll have a more normal transition.”
Here’s hoping that Trump is able to prove Wallace wrong by showing that there was widespread voter fraud.
