When Americans go to the polls on election day in less than two weeks, several major issues will be at play. But not all of them play the same way in all parts of the nation. Let me break them down for you.
The economy- Obviously, vital everywhere. However, in areas hit hardest by coronavirus, because of moronic Democrat governors and their draconian virus regs, the economy matters more than in sane areas like Florida, Texas, and South Dakota where smart GOP governors kept their states economically viable. If coronavirus had never hit the economy would be at stratospheric levels and the president would be cruising to reelection. But it did and he used a sledgehammer instead of a scalpel in dealing with the economics of the virus. So an issue that should have cut massively for the Republicans is theirs, but nominally at best.
The virus- Matters everywhere, but more so in Democrat states, as mentioned above, with cretins serving as governors. The question is, who do they blame more: their governors or the president? In hard hit states like California, New York, and New Jersey they will blame Trump because they have been socially conditioned to do so. But in some swing states like Ohio and Arizona, states with a strong conservative vote, the governors may get the lion’s share of the blame, thus helping the president take those states in the Electoral College.
National Security- Most care about it. But two regions care more. They are the South and states with a heavy military presence and/or lots of military contractors. The South is culturally more conservative than most parts of the country and thus more patriotic. It is also the cultural and demographic heart of America’s military, the birthplace and home of record of our own Samurai class. They will care more about national security because it is in their blood to do so. Other states like California, Texas, and Florida that have large military bases also care about national security because those posts bring in a considerable amount of money to the state government and economy. The same goes for locations like California that host the big defense contractors. Though Trump has no shot at California, swing states with a strong military presence like Florida and Georgia will tilt his way.
Law and order- Weirdly, it doesn’t matter at all in many big cities, as long ago Chicago, St. Louis, Portland, Seattle and other Democrat bastions decided to effectively turn their cities over to mobs and criminals. Why? It was the only way Democrats could stay in power. However, there will be a backlash this year and it will benefit the Republicans. It may not happen in those Democrat hellholes. But other swing states like Michigan and Wisconsin that have seen, or been the victim of, Antifa and Black Lives Matter violence will remember that at the polls.
