Prince William was reportedly so angry at his brother Prince Harry for stepping down as a senior royal earlier this year that he refused to even break bread with him at the infamous Sandringham Summit, where the whole family tried to sort through “Megxit.”

Page Six reported that this was revealed by royal author Robert Lacey in his new book “Battle of Brothers,” in which he claimed that the brothers’  once-warm relationship has been “utterly broken” by Harry’s “disrespect” and betrayal when he didn’t consult the Queen before he and his wife Meghan Markle announced to the world that they were stepping down as senior royals.

In fact, Harry and Meghan notified the palace of their plans just ten minutes before they made their announcement on Twitter. William’s friends told Lacey that he did everything he could to avoid Harry outside of the official negotiations once they finally came face to face.

“The Queen had suggested the family should gather for lunch before their big pow-wow in the library that afternoon, but he refused his grandmother’s invitation,” Lacey wrote about William. “He would obviously turn up at 2 p.m. for the meeting, he said, but he only wanted to talk business.”

Lacey added that since then, the brothers have barely said a word to each other, aside from wishing one another a happy birthday. Making matters even worse was Harry and Meghan’s decision to trademark Sussex Royal products without his grandmother’s okay. Lacey explained that the royal family saw this as a “commercializing of the crown.”

“‘Hopping’ was a mild description of how mad the family was,” he said.

This comes after it was reported that William was livid about Harry signing a deal with Netflix because of the controversial way that “The Crown” is portraying their mother Princess Diana’s struggle with bulimia.

The U.K. Telegraph reported that the upcoming season of “The Crown,” which is set to come out in November, will be depicting a dark period for the British royal family. Not only will the show follow the separation of Prince Charles and Diana, it will also portray Diana’s struggle with an eating disorder.

“William and other senior royals are incredibly uncomfortable about this drama and livid Harry is now in partnership with the company that’s airing it,” a television insider said. “It’s the latest in a long line of flashpoints between the brothers, but there are few more sensitive subjects than the plight of their mother.”

“Viewers of The Crown — which is a candid look at the Queen’s reign — wouldn’t expect the writers to ignore something which is now a matter of public record,” the source added. “But the Royal Family also wouldn’t expect one of their own to take money made by the profits of shows like this.”
